Went over my top cap and atomizer and couldn't see anything that looks like it might be having an intermittent short. The positive pin looks like it's pretty well insulated inside the
threaded holder, and everything looked clean with no marks on it. Looks like even if that o-ring was gone all you'd get was some condensation leaking inside maybe, I don't think it actually insulates anything. Only thing I can find that might short on the atomizer is if one of it's insulators is wonky, but they looked ok. No spares on hand to try changing them though.
At around 20 hours since wiping my button now and have noticeable black buildup along that worn band under the lip of the button, and along the top edge of the button housing. Getting .4v loss now, but not getting any misfires. That's the only place I can see anything at all off on my ELA. Haven't gotten around to trying the sandpaper yet, that's on the list for later tonight hopefully.
Also, bumped the side while I was testing the voltage and now have a couple little arc marks on the top can and positive pin.
