I'm pretty sure you only use the accent in 18500 and 18650 as you can see from photo on OP

just underneath the top cap is the accent ring. furthermore this should work with 18500 n 18650 out of the box, and it only comes with 1 accent ring

Correct, no room for an accent ring in 18350-mode.

That is correct, I think, if you're referring to the accent ring at the top (atomizer end) of the device. But there are two accent rings, one of which goes at the bottom (button end) of the device; it is threaded onto the body just above where the button screws on. The one at the bottom is used in all modes, including 18350 mode.

IS there a big difference between the buttons on the ELA and the P+ ?
My used P+500 will fire sometimes when i put it down upright and it leans or tilts slightly... it has to be straight up vertical for it not to fire... a little scary.
I really like iHyb bottom button design V2... it has a crown bottom cap and you stick you finger (pinkie) through one of the crown points to fire; no need to depress the button part way when you set it down on flat surface.
I am curious to see how the ELA button functions in that regard.

Correct, same button and yes, it will fire if not locked before placing upright. With it being a bottom button mod and the weight of the unit(its hefty), it'll press the button down if not locked before placing upright.

Duh, you are totally right! I had to view the pics in pull resolution before I saw it. I thought the body tube were one piece down to the switch! :)

Two accent rings come with each ELA purchase. One slides over the top extension tube when in 18500 or 18650 mode and the other screws on the bottom, just above the bottom cap. It is not used in 18350 mode.

Ok thank you, and the rest of you guys for confirming.

My understanding is that the ELA uses the same button as the P+ even though the tube is thicker (hence the need for the accent ring at the bottom). I think you can solve that firing problem by making some adjustments to the button, specifically taking out one of the nickel washers. That will make the throw longer so that the button has to be depressed a good distance beyond the ridges that you're sitting it on to stand it up vertically. Thus, it won't fire when standing on the ridges.

Yes, its the same button and will fire if placed upright on a desk without locking the button.

oh ok... sorry i always thought there was only 1 accent ring. didnt realise the bottom part has another

can you clarify one thing david, if i get the accent ring, either in brass or SS, and i choose satin finish for the body, will the rings in satin finish too or polished?

oh one more thing, the optional extra set for the accent ring comes in two as well?

Thats a good question.....I ordered a Satin ELA and commented on my order to have the Stainless Steel accent rings finished in Satin to match the Satin ELA body... plus a set of polished Brass accent rings for the bling:hubba:!

re: P+, is there a locking mech on the P+?

On the P+? Well of course there is! Have you never looked up a review or anything? The middle part of the button looks separate because it is.. it has a spring loaded ball bearing that keeps the middle part in place. To lock it you snap the square on the switch that has the P on it up or down.

The optional accent rigns all come in polished, so it would be two tone. With the unit though, the rings would match the finish type choosen.

Dumb question here...I've never pre-ordered anything before. Is it paid for upfront or would my name/account be holding one for me or how does it work? Don't like to leave $$$ jus sitting in a paypal ya know.
tia:)

Yes it is prepaid but at least you will be guaranteed one when it is released and I believe that this is the introductory price from Kevin.
