Sounds like something my last GF said right before she dumped me.. I kid, I kid.. Or do I?

LOL, girls........... I guess im on the unconventional side, I told my man , dont go out and get me a ring, unless he really knows me. To which he said, not that I was going to, but what do you mean?

I told him that I was not into the typical diamonds and things, I like unique antiques. I actually love whats called mine diamonds or rough ones, that are handcut and uneven. Im weird. I also prefer good stainless steel or teflon as opposed to gold. Titanium is also nice.

Sharkhide is that expensive? WOW. What about cape cod polish? If you check out the GG forum, theres a guy ; Dspin, he is the "polishing god" he is really nice and if you PM him im sure he can give you some really good advise.

Again, this is just a 20 dollar accent ring, its not like its the whole device, go for it:)

Isn't cape cod abrasive polish for taking out scratches? I've already got the polish covered with my bottle of Flitz and I want to keep the brushed finish. But my top ring has gone from gleamy gold to brown in < 24 hours. I just want a barrier between the polished brass and my greasy hands so I don't have to polish so often.

But your testimonial about flaking clear coat is familiar and something I'm eager to avoid. Thanks for reminding me. :)

Just all part of owning a brass mod (or a mod with brass bits)...you either polish it all the time, or you learn to love the patina. :)

The reg Cape Cod polish is good for cleaning and shining. But it doesn't take scratches off. Especially if you use it with a soft microfiber rag. Even when used with the buffing rag, you would have to spend days before a scratch came off. Theres a vendor on Ebay that sells the large tub of Cape Cop rags in a tin for a great price. The Cape Cods are also infused with a vanilla scent.

For scratches and scuffs, I use Autosol for, its abrasive and good for scratches, not for daily cleaning and shining. I think Dspin gave me those tips.

I fully endorse your choice of polish, that's all I use on SS.

Is it abrasive? Because autosol has a gritty finish and will smooth out brushed finishes depending on how hard you buff. Its very reasonable on Amazon, less than the autosol and I like the fact that it does leave a protective film.

your life seems sad bro =(

Don't know why you would say that... The quoted comment was a joke!

My life sad? Not even close my friend! I retired at 43 and haven't worked a day since. I go to bed when I want, I wake up when I want and I can do whatever I please with my days..

If that makes my life sad, then I guess I'd have to agree! :p

As far as I can tell no, seems to work by sort of an oxidation process at the molecular level on SS - best way I can describe it. It will smooth out brushed finishes with a ton of buffing. I've used flitz and semichrome, for me semichrome is #1 for getting that mirror shine.
