Dual coils run cooler because they are basically two higher resistance coils in parallel, so you need more voltage to get good heat out of them.

1.8 to 2 ohms on a single coil carto is about the lowest you can go without getting a melted burnt taste, and the 2 ohm single boge's work great at 3.7.

A 1.25 ohm dual coil is two 2.5 ohm coils, so it's not as hardcore as it sounds.

Makes sense! Maybe that's why I didn't like the dual coil when I tried it..

Thanks for the response!

My ELA finally landed last night. It's gorgeous. Well worth the 5 month wait time and unquestionably the finest mod I've ever handled.

One question: is the bottom button supposed to rotate on the ELA? With all of the extreme attention to detail seen elsewhere on this piece, it surprises me that the button rotates as mine does. Makes it kind of a PITA to lock the button when I have to rotate it back every time. Am I missing something here?

Yep, it rotates. Some people mind it, others don't. David explained once the necessity of a cylindrical button in eliminating flat surface shear forces.
So for button locking, would you prefer a 1/4 turn and a click or a screw screw screw screw screw screw screw?

rrayda does have a point though. Sitting in a dark room watching a movie or driving a car, it's not always practical to look at the button while locking. However, this ELA is easier to lock without looking than my old P+ since the lock is a different finish. With a little practice, you can learn to tell by feel whether the P logo is lined up with the arch. I've had much more nagging gripes with other mods though, and the ELA is still the best mod to be had at any price.

Still, it'd be nice if there was a little more obvious tactile indicator of the lock's alignment without having to recreate the Far Side's Midvale School for the Gifted while twisting bit by bit until success.

Well, OK..I figured there was a reason. It bothers me a bit, but not nearly enough to make the ELA anything short of extraordinary. I'm spoiled here as I've never had any other type of telescoping mod with which to compare the ELA. What I do I know is that I am eminently satisfied with this exceptional piece of machinery.

No! No! No! That rotating button was made that way by design ...
David knew once you starting vaping, you're going to want to vape with that beauty for awhile. Nothing more annoying than to inadvertently lock it on an intended fire and vape, so David made the locking mechanism directional to keep your extended vaping experience smooth and fluid. When you are ready to quit, then you line 'er up and lock it.

If you have any other complaints just let me know, I specialize in gripe removal to make things right with the world again.

ELA is about an hour away - as usual the postman did not bother coming to the door and just left a note for pick up. Also i think my term and herc have arrived.

You need the following items to retrieve ELA from the *closed* post office..

1) Flashlight
2) Brick
3) Ski mask
4) Bail money in case you get busted

Good luck, report back please! :p

I retrieved your suggested getup and equipment, however when i got there it was still open so i just looked like an idiot (thanks for that). ELA is by my side as i type along with my marriage certificate (thought it was the term and herc). Its nice small and chubby. Definitely quality mod. Looks great with whatever i put on it as well. Heavy little thing which is a good and a bad point. No time to play with it at the moment as i have an assignment due tomorrow. This thing is going to look great with a terminator on it for sure.

I seriously just can't wait to get a mod that I as a modder don't feel the need to do anything to. If that happens the wait will have been well worth it (which I don't doubt),and I will be a VERY happy vaper .
Congrats to all who have recieved their ELA.. Covert & I are anxiously waiting and cant wait to vape like a couple of sirs ;)
