It's more brittle, but this will not be noticeable at the scale of human vs. mechanical mod in terms of dropping, scratching, etc. Keep in mind that brittleness has more to do with ductility and malleability than hardness (so perhaps more craters vs. dents). But (as previously mentioned by others) much lighter, much harder (mentioned and please verify through Mohs scale), much less corrosive, much less reactive, and much more rare than steel. Don't know much about conductivity, but I'm sure Wikipedia will oblige...

My main point is that titanium really does have its merits. I hope this helps.
It's more brittle than SS yes.

Perhaps the following link will help in terms of a reference point?

http://chemistry.about.com/od/molec...f-Electrical-Resistivity-And-Conductivity.htm

Thanks for posting that pmar4015.
For those not familiar with conductivity charts, just a reminder on conductivity charts as often they are misinterpreted: the published resistance numbers are over a given distance through the material that the current is passing. For a given material, the resistance is proportional to the length and for a given material, the resistance is inversely proportional to the cross-sectional area.

So if you were to compare say Stainless to Aluminum over a 2" travel, measured voltage drop would be negligible between the two due to the short distance it has to travel despite what at first glance you'd read from the conductivity chart. Now, run that same current over ten feet, then you'll start to see some significant drop.

I only bring this up because for four years, I've watched conductivity charts be misunderstood and misread.

So, any hints when you expect to have the SimpliciTi (I just made that up. You can use it if you want.) available for purchase? I wouldn't mind doing it as a pre-order if they won't be ready for a while, as long as I could guarantee my spot. I'm pretty sure raqball wouldn't mind, either.

I am ready to order it last week!

I was also hoping it would go live on the site like NOW.

My F5 key may not work much longer :p

Seriously though.. I need to peddle daily to get ready for my 100 mile ride to raise moola for Make A Wish but with my luck, it will get posted when I am out peddling away and by the time I got back it would be sold out..

If I know what day it's up for sale, I won't peddle that day!

Hey hey.. I peddle 30-40 miles a day about 5 days a week. On the 22nd of this month I am doing a 100 mile ride to raise mooola for Make A Wish :)

Awesome! I'm bikeless at the moment, I had to sell off my Cannondale a couple of years ago, but I'm really close to picking up my next ride. I'm going to be doing some test riding this weekend.

To rich for my blood.. I do all my peddling on a Giant Rapid Zero that I upgraded to Ultegra components..

I'm looking at 105 level in each model. Around 1500-2000 tops, with the exception being the Bianchi alloy impulso. It's ultegra and only about 1800. But, Ultegra seems unnecessary if you aren't racing.

Me race? Gawd no! I'm 48 and have Leukemia so I'm a bit of a slow poke.. I average about 15mph per my Garmin GPS computer on most of my rides.. Unless I dew a mountain, then my average speed tumbles! LOL

You have to keep up Nach. This has become the "Tell us about your mountain bike and maybe we'll talk about Super-T" thread

This thread has been just about everywhere and every now and then the ELA makes it's way back on topic..

It's inevitable with a thread this large and when people are waiting..

I see you are kinda new here. Super T is like a family where the users all get along, talk about personal stuff and shoot the breeze while waiting on the new mega David device.

It's been that way since my 1st Super T in early 2010..

Maybe it's changed now? I don't think so but I apologize for adding to off-topic chatter..

Sorry it got off-topic and I won't post here anymore since I am no longer in the ELA queue..

Off to stalk Super T for the Ti..

Peace owt~! :)

Aw raq. It's called a sense of humor.

And thanks for the passive-aggressive "you must be new here".
