Thanks for sad face understanding, Cucco. I haven't been w/o the ELA since I received it last year. It's been my primary device since I got it. I have quite a few other nice mechanicals, but none that quite compare with my appreciation of the ELA. But I'll make do with them in the interim. :)

Its funny, I joined another forum recently, and not to bad mouth the forum, but its odd how different groups prioritize what is the in devices and the ones they dont care for.

I posted on thier ELA thread and man they do not have a lot of love for it. Some really bad mouth it. I took it in stride, the forum is so different in its structure. THey werent overly aggressive and I took it with humor. I just laughed it up and flooded them with photos of ELA and made them suffer. :)

I understand. I would wait for the backup. I think, I am going to wait till my backup, to my backup, comes. :)

I figure, David won't mind. I guess. :)

Yeup, I mean, what can you do? Im new and they are a hard crowd to please. I admit, I was a bit offended, especially since it is the ELA thread, if someone came on here and said the things they said, most would of been offended and started trying to defend it, but I decided that heck, I cant change peoples minds so just take it for what it is. I posted my thoughts and they were respectful and after all that, they pretty good group.

On one hand at least no one has to be afraid to speak their mind:)

Won't try to guess the forum, but I think I may be familiar with it.

What I really don't care about is voltage drop measured in a couple hundredths or tenths. I really don't care about voltage drop unless it's dramatic, and I have yet to come across a mech with such dramatic drop that it's been an issue. Even if I did, I'd just do one less wrap on the coil build to compensate. I just want a quality build, a great company and a device that works well.

You know its all relative. Just like you , I am more concerned with quality and the reputation and the customer service and after sale care. Voltage drops , so many variables. Plus with a telescopic, its only logical and the nature of the beast. A solid tube less joins, yada yada......... WHat I love the most is the looks, it just doesnt look like a countless 22mm beautiful common tube PVs. It goes well with my favorite atty, the Odysseus. ITs a hard atty to match a device to. Its 23mm, so almost impossible. I know that it also is not the most performance atty, like that Kayfun, but I feel in love with it when I first found out there were more things out there but cig-alikes. Just like the Precise Plus, first device to make me flip. Back then I never ever thought Id ever own the Ody or a Precise/ Super T device.

I am still as excited about getting my third ELA, as I was about getting my second. :)

Strata .. not so much.
I get that. Love is love. I'm actually looking forward to run the gauntlet on the Strata.

My biggest problem is payment up front. I stopped joining lists that had that requirement last year. AFIAC, consumers should only pay full price if a product is ready to ship. Even though quality takes time, most other industries that take on custom work only require a deposit. Keeping in mind, we aren't talking thousands of dollars (I'm sitting at around 800 sent to SuperT in the last month) that would be a huge impact in an investment account, but IMO it still stinks to have no growth on that dollar. Unless said purchaser is a flipper, in which case they are an a$$hole, but likely doing better than investing in a TFSA or whatever.

Regarding excitement, I have to be very careful thinking about this for too long, as I get pissy when I start counting days late (remember my 18350 Ti, anyone?, lol). Thankfully I have a decent collection and have enough to play with at any given time to keep SuperT off my mind. But when I do finally get tracking, it's better than Christmas. No lie.

I plan on supporting Super T for as long as they put out gorgeous and functional stuff, but I sure wish they could get realistic with time projections or better yet, increase production.

My 2c.
I very very much agree with your post. I went down the ELA list road a year ago with a friend? Got tired of waiting. Here I am again.
There aren't many, if any high end devices I haven't owned. It is all my wife and I will ever own. I will pay more for quality, care, support and a builder that is appreciative and cares for his buyers.
I have been on many lists and a few pre pay lists. I get the commitment issue for builders.
I also understand David and Team work hard and produce great devices.
What I struggle with is 6,7,8 months of waiting after payment and wondering about time line. I also am not a fan of missing a timeframe. A day or two eh...fine but, when I ordered the To and Strata it was stated 2 weeks.
I'm not mad, disgruntled, or close to melt down but, an update? Anything? I ordered almost 1000.00 of Super T and I feel a bit let down. I certainly am not worried about money, luckily never have been but, I am a consumer and human nature sets in.
I'm lucky to own a few :) of the nicest high end gear from great builders and appreciate the work and skill set needed to produce such. I also am patient but, digress when hearing wait times and then that one guy says "be patient it's worth the wait". I'm sure it is but, objectively put yourself in my or another's shoes. Have compassion for objectiveness.
Maybe a deposit? Maybe a clear timeframe? It just feels a bit lonely in this position I suppose.
Again, I am not taking away from David and his obvious abilities, I wouldn't be here if I thought any less than satisfied with his amazing builds. Those of you that know me can verify that. I'm a self described device snob because I can be. :)

Oh yea, we ordered TIs. :)
We did? *checking........yep.

I, oh so, understand.............

In all honesty, I was having some medical issues, and I was actually getting depressed, thinking I may not live long enough, to see my first ELA. The thought of that, was down right pissing me off. But.... :)

So far, I have lived to see two of them. Phew! I may actually see my third! :)

BTW: I am O.K.. The world, may have to put up with me for a while. :)

I have mixed feelings about having to pre-pay in whole and having wait for months for certain items from Super T. If they were a larger company, I'd probably not do it. But they're a smaller company, doing all of their work in house, and they do eventually deliver on their products and support them so well.

In my experience with super t, the patience has been well worth the wait and pre-payment: they deliver on what is promised. Now, if I placed an order with many other vendors and got charged immediately and didn't see what I ordered for months, I'd be cancelling the order and/or calling my credit card company to reverse the charge. But I'm ok with waiting and being patient for Super T products. It's not for everyone though, I admit.

I trust, that Super-T will always deliver. I don't have a problem waiting. Because I now know, what I am waiting for. Good stuff. But, I would have liked to have known, up front, that the wait was going to be so long. Really, would have liked to know! Now, I know. Now, I just assume. So, I adjust my thinking accordingly. If they ever do give a good estimate, I will be so happily surprised. :)

I still would have thought David would have gotten a little bit closer with his estimates. When i saw the wait time on the Strata, I said there is no way that is going to happen in that time frame and sure enough it did not. I had no idea what i was getting into when i made my first super t purchase. I sure as hell know now that you have to order then forget or at least try to forget about the order and the product. I got so annoyed with the wait time for the ELA but at the end of the day i am so so glad i gave him my money. I prefer the upfront payment as i know my spot is secured and it makes the waiting time easier. I have been on other pre-orders and was constantly going back to check if they wanted payment or not yet, as a lot of them will cut you off the list if you do not pay within 48 hours.

You know I have no questions about them delivering, I know they will be fantastic devices as well :).

You would think. :)

Strata: Yea, I giggled, when I read the estimate. And, I rarely giggle. :)

Not what I heard

Before the next topic(bring it on already!) Again, the monetary investment is moot for me personally, I've worked very hard to be there. It is the time investment along with factoring in the unknown. If I like the devices I will be in a tough position to order, I think the next purchase would weigh heavy with this experience and may have to pass.
I want relive the feeling of excitement when Pris Pm'd me about the availability. I'm afraid the feeling is going flat. I have a flat button and a flat top or two packed away for the unknown unforeseeable future.
I apologize in advance for the thought, although I don't think I should have too, Life is too short not to be honest. :)

I believe in brutal honesty. Not everyone appreciates that from me. Oh well! Comes with the package. :)
