Precise ELA Telescoping Mod by Super-T!

Im back, think Im going to give my ELAs a good going over and give it a try again. See if there is anything Im missing, something loose, too tight. I got a shipping notice for my springs. I figure I will see them next week, Weds or Thurs, I hope. I am having withdrawals. I know I can use them but I hate getting frustrated. I dont want to have any neg thoughts about them

Well they are actually on the move, says should be here on Monday !!!! I hope, mail can be really odd these days with all the weather.

Just wanted to drop in, and say hi Looks as if I have a bit of a wait for my last ELA to arrive, but all in all it has been one fun ride, and I can't wait for whatever David has planned next.

Totally broke down my ELAs, cleaned etc. Added a washer now they are firing strong with very little pressure of the button. I do get a warmer button, but loosened my atty and seems to be better. I was chain vaping so that could be part of the heat. I also noticed that on my Polished, the oldest one, there was a LOT of rust in the threads of the contact pin that screws into the button. I dont have rust on the Satin. Could be that there is a "flaw" on my plating? Its not the steel little pin with the bearing, its the Rhodium contact, it was real thick on the threads. I had to very carefully brush off the rust with soft micro brushes and alcohol a few times to get the q-tip to come out with no rust/ yellow orange colour. I will see if it happens again. Maybe I can exchange my Rhodium contact. I dont think the stainless steel button could have a flaw that would cause rust. Unless I exchange the whole button ? I hope David can provide his thoughts.

But for now they are both hitting hard and no slippage of the locking rings. Only thing with the added washer is that I cant stand it up with out firing, which I did a lot.

Even stainless will rust if water is trapped there long enough, whereas I don't think rhodium, or the layer under it, will ever oxidize.

So I've been thinking about your rust.
When you clean your unit, do you take the post off the button and immerse them in water? If so, maybe some water becomes trapped in the button hole and when you put the post back in you have a breeding ground for rust.

When you clean your unit, do you take the post off the button and immerse them in water? If so, maybe some water becomes trapped in the button hole and when you put the post back in you have a breeding ground for rust.

Anything I wash, I dry. But, I have to hold onto it tight, or it flies across the house! It's my motorcycle dryer. But, I use it on so many things!

I'm running my ELA with the brass this weekend and the original button. I have to admit I love the flat bottom button. The stability is awesome and I especially enjoy it when at work, sits solid on the deck. But the original button has such a great curve on it. I can pinky fire it without regard to the cut out's position.

My ELA has been my daily vape since I got it. I'm really excited for the Strata as well.

Just had a wild hair tonight to take some pics of the setup and say thank you to David as well as all the Super T family. A great bunch indeed!

I've found that it stays atop my ELA more then any other atty lately. I like the airy (but not too airy) draw and vapor production on it. I'm quite pleased with it.
