Nice HR Giger poster! Is it sad I remember that one from 1995?

i love this forum coz everyone is just mad chill! i'm so glad i found out about the precise line but maybe i'm more glad i found this forum too LOL.

but in all seriousness, i really am happy that i found this line. i was doing a ton of research on what my first mech mod would be and i just stumbled upon the ELA thread and tbh, i didn't really fall 'in love' at first since i've been looking at caravela's and all those fancy mods... but the more i delved into researching those, the more i realized that there's no way i'll get my hands on those mods just coz they're so 'exclusive' and EXPENSIVE! plus the upkeep on all those brass contacts just isn't for me.

so i read more about david's products and i decided that the ELA is just perfect for me (i mean it's really great that it's a US made mod WITH lifetime warranty, at an extremely competitive price). in addition, i have read nothing but positive reviews about the precise line. needless to say, i bit the bullet and pre-ordered the ELA. i thought i could wait it out... then i saw a sale on the other precise line... and well i just had to get the P+16 and after receiving it, i became a believer. i stopped using my vamo and the P+16 became my daily mod! and my P+10 came today and it is just lovely... can't wait to start using that as well.

i don't even lust after those other mods anymore :p

Hey NY here, yeah you can take that vamo and bury it once you get into the higher end mods. Precise ELA or his other battery mods are a great place to start - and finish- from here on out. Now get yourself a good Rba/ genesis style atomizer if you don't already and enjoy vaping even more. The vamo with a vivi nova can be a back up easy setup if need be. (Vivis are the best $7.00 you can spend IMHO for daily vaping back up). Anyway, welcome to the forum:).

Oh and the ELA is just as "high-end" the only difference in that and caravela etc etc is that it's all function and no hype. If it was made in a small workshop in Russia and had a serial number with a promise of only 999 units sold then it would be considered "higher-end." Don't fall in love with the hype, it's all fluff for the people that desire "collect able" vape ware.

I was going to comment on the giger myself..

Im a BIG Giger fan, Since seeing the first Alien film I became obsessed with his art. I have a few calendars, big books, everything I can afford. I even have the large Alien queen by Todd Mcfarlane. I even have a set of his Tarot cards.

Well, as Maxwell Smart would say regarding the 1st batch - missed it by that much. Looking forward to getting my ELA...well, whenever.

This is not meant too critically - but I do have to say - prototyping while building the mods for delivery is just a huge delay. I DO understand the exacting standards and appreciate them - but best to have the mod built and then offer for sale. It's frustrating to see changes being made in mid production - device should have been ready for production when offered - period.
I know - that sounds harsh - but no real way to candy coat it - we prepaid quite a bit of money for a device that was given a time frame - only to see it change time and again.
I am by no means disappointed - I know in the end - it will be well worth it, and I am also a later order (again, I am second batch) - the delay is no big deal at all for me.
I am only of the opinion that the device should be ready for manufacture when it is offered for purchase - there are many threads posted about how us vapers hate being prototypers - and it can get especially frustrating when the time listed for delivery has always been 6 to 8 weeks which...we all know - is.....well....
Don't take what I say as a true negative - I really DO appreciate the exacting standards - the attention to detail - the quality - that it is CORRECT. This, to me, is THE mod to get, it should have just been ready and correct for production before being offered for purchase - and I do know, and appreciate that the changes are because Dave is...exact.
Never mind me...you have your ELA - I am waiting and getting pissy...... ahhh...venting good.....

... I am only of the opinion that the device should be ready for manufacture when it is offered for purchase....

The first prototype was hand turned on a lathe. The preorders were a way to make David's acquisition of his cnc machine possible. As far as I'm aware, most of David's products have not been available for purchase unless they were completed and in stock.

As long as we're being honest and forthright, I'm glad to have been given the chance to guarantee myself an ELA at its earliest availability, whenever that may occur. But with all the "venting" and whining in this thread about not meeting the 6-8 week (admittedly optimistic) shipping estimate, I'd be surprised if any future products will be anything other than first-come-first-served: camping on the website for the first sign of availability, then battling frustratingly overloaded servers when they do become available.

No, I prefer pre-order, and don't you mess this up for me Draconian or so help me I will come to your house and tie all your pajama legs in knots.

:)

Okay..I feel better...for another week or so....<laughing>
I have other stuff on the way to sate me - and the Precise+18650 in my hand which is...gorgeous with my Cobra on it.

Pics or it didn't happen.

This item was offered for pre-sale. It will be offered for purchase as an in-stock item in the future. It always helps to know the difference ahead of time.

Not making excuses (well, yeah, i kind of am) but part of the delay was once we got the machine and realized it's capibilities, i made some changes to the design to help the end user (for example the flats machined on both the hybrid center post and the top cap for the adjustable draw). Since i could, i did and the end user benefits, however it did add further delay. Sigh...

True. With the P+ we basically didn't know it existed until they were ready to go. They went on sale, we bought them all, then you couldn't buy one until the next run. I'm absolutely certain David prefers to operate this way.
24/7 instant delivery forever and ever would require mass production. That might be a goal and I'm all for it *as long as* the quality doesn't suffer. The quality is what sets Super-T apart from all others.

David, we appreciate the fact that you put us first. Dedication to a project is rare in this world. A lot of people are great at coming up with ideas but atrocious at follow through. You have a gift in that you can imagine a product and a business model and not sacrifice the integrity of either because it's easier. Thank you, ten fold, for putting quality and ingenuity before what's easy. The end-user will benefit greatly from this. I look forward to the next project.
