and it doesnt fire standing up if not locked? I know the precise would with certain combos of washers and orings. Im trying to understand how the ela wont fire
It wont fire because the whole bottom section is isolated from where the battery sits and because the telescopic feature moves to the contact and not the button it will only fire when the button goes past a certain level. Its hard to describe without actually looking at it.
WIth a fixed tube size you have a set length and the batteries might be too long or too short but since the length adapts so that the contacts are just in the right place.
I hope im describing this so someone can understand. Maybe someone more technically versed can explain it, Im confusing myself

As it's set up when it arrives to you it won't fire standing up because the button has to be pressed just beyond the end of the horns to make contact. You could set it up with a shorter throw (more washers) just like the P+ (yes it's the exact same button), which would extend the point where the button makes contact out beyond the horns and then it would fire standing up. As received it won't, though
So that means we can use the non locking brass button on our ELA's ? If so I want one : )
Yeah, David stated earlier that it will work, but it has a longer pin and might need to be sanded down a bit and/or some washers. It will surely fire standing up.
Still eagerly awaiting my ELA. Order #15118, so hopefully soon. That said, even without having tried the ELA, I hope Super T makes a hybrid next. The integration of the tube and the atty just works so much better, imo.

That would be sweet! Replace my love for my immo, and I will be happy. If he moves on something fast enough I won't sell the ELA, but right now serious thoughts about it. No I don't want a dern refund. I got to lay my hands on it first, especially after waiting 4 months.
@Nach I have the tools and good old American know how to make it work ; ) I have to at least try.
I have a special "buddy" guarding my ELA, this is Paul , he keeps an eye on my valuables.

Someone else that has an ELA and an immortalizer said the same thing. Hoping my thoughts will change once I get it.
Just my two cents here, we need an american who is willing to build drippers, we have none. We have several americans producing gennies, but not drippers. It is either china, or the philippines that make the majority of drippers. Yes there are few other countries, but not many. I rather support any other country first before china. I only drip. Therefore, if I want to use my ELA, my selection of toppers just got way decreased. If a mod is going to mandate what I can use on top, then please allow me to use something other than a china made product. Right now the ELA seems to be made for china products.
I need to leave this discussion alone, seems as I just talked myself into more reason to sell it.
