I'm in batch two and I feel like by the time I get the mod it's going to be outdated and money better spent on a newer mod :(

Yeah, that's not going to happen. My first upgrade from ego batteries was a p+ 18500. That was about a year and a half ago, and it still performs better than most more modern mech mods.

Mods with stainless contacts have a bigger voltage drop. Those with brass contacts have to be polished often. No other maker offers precious metal contacts plated with arc and tarnish resistant rhodium.

GG stealth and storm offer adjustable center pin, but it's hard on fingernails. Nobody does the quick release telescoping mechanism.

What do you reckon could make the ELA outdated? Something from the Philippines covered in hieroglyphs? Not going to happen.

Newer mods will enter and exit vogue, but Super-T mods are the vaping world's standard of excellence.

A mechanical mod isn't rocket science or replaced by newer methods to eclipse previous ones. This industry took the flashlight as a model and just tuned it for our needs. A flashlight 20 years ago is a flashlight in 2013. Don't fret, buy a kayfun like the rest of us, piss off the kayfun collectors, and get it ready for your new mod.

This implies that a mech mod is a mech mod. True that the basic idea is funneling raw power from a battery to an atty connection is the primary function of all mech pv's. But you who have received your ELA know better than I that the implication, whether intentional or not, is not true; that super-t's mods employ workmanship, materials and refinement that make them extraordinary. If this were not so, you wouldn't care which mod ended up with you on your desert island.

Of course, that goes without saying. A mod isn't just any mod like there is a huge hobby grade market for flashlights. We use the same batteries, many mod makers use them as primary sources for their designs, and share similar basics of power delivery. The grand daddy to the PV, unlike some stories of their wives pleasure devices leading to the discovery of mod design (guys -men- you can't buy the "silver bullet" for that reason lol).

Also, similar to flash lights you have those who like the tactical designs with cuts, heavy knurling, cerakote etc, and some are stream lined and classic.

I have to completely disagree.

David

I have to agree with David....For those of you who have not recived your ELA yet, it is Rocket Sicence when compared to other mechanical mods...A Masterpiece of design........... I hate to say it but the ELA has made my P+ obsolute.....
I so freaking impressed with it!!! :headbang:

For some reason I can tell you're excited.
How's the adjustable draw?

For now I have moved the 0.8 ohm HH to my Shockwave... Im still playing with it...Yes it does give a thicker vape than a 1.5 ohm HH and Im sure as the battery discharges the 0.8 ohm will perform outstanding... It does get hot though, after 4-5 hits in a row its almost to hot to touch... I dont wnat to take it out of the house yet on my ELA since Im not sure how quick it will drain a 18490 battery... Im so over dosed with nicotine since I keep comparing the different atty resistances....

I still think that a 3.0 ohm coil gives a smoother vape when kicked than a 1.5/0.8 run @ 3.7 volts
