I'm in the final steps, gonna finish up today, and I had a small problem with my button. I'm using the Alps switch, and every time I put the completed top cap on the body, the button would fail; it was being pulled too tight by the magnets. So I removed the 2 mags out of the body that were nearest the button, and it fixed the problem. Just thought I'd pass that on.

Anybody having problems with the large screen DNA40? Mine works when not in the body but goes out each time the unit is assembled. I was able to trace it down to the ribbon cable - when the up/down wires are in the little pocket it applies pressure to the ribbon causing it to go out. The device still works but the display is dead. Sounds like a RMA is in my near future.

While assembling the GDNA took about three hours longer than thought it wasn't too bad at all. Only thing I really want on future releases would be to have the atty sit at the way down flush with the mod. My 510 is tightened down all the way and still can't get my Freakshow Mini or Derringer to sit flush.

You can adjust the screw to allow the atty to sit flush. Tighten the screw more against the o-ring or loosen the delrin on the underside of the 510.

As for the the wires pushing against the ribbon cable, why can't you just change the solder point of the wires to the switches so it doesn't directly apply pressure? Found I had to solder in the middle of the bent legs of the switches just to get the cap on properly and that no part of the soldered wire could stick off the end of the switches towards the display. Also, I had to change the angle at which the wires were soldered to the power switches to make them fit better.

Good ideas! I should have put it aside to clear my head instead of banging my head. I think adjusting the delrin will do the trick as I know it is tightened all the way up as well.

I think the screen is bad as it will fail even out of the mod with the lightest of touch to the ribbon cable.

Anything that keeps s person from getting their freakshow on needs to be addressed.

Sorry, nothing personal, I just wasn't able to let it go by, my filter hasn't kick on yet this morning.

It may be that your ribbon cable if not on all the way, I know on the big screens they unplug from the board. You might try taking off and putting it back on again; could be a loose connection.
