hey all,

admittedly a "lurker" here, i have PM'd a couple of people about this, been checking out the Reo's for 3-4 months but can just never agree to that price when i have 4 kids at home to raise.... But this being something i can build and customize if i see fit, "rock on!" when my financing department (the wife) approve, i'll be joining the Peko Clan. Then as this will be my first bottom feeder, ill have to choose between my Origen clone or Odin clone to become a home-made bottom feeder atty.

with a family of 6 and only 1 income, MOST of my stuff comes from china (Slowtech). sorry to admit for the Authentic lovers, but at least i'm off the stinkies, since January 2014.

The first coat of matt will absorb. I do three or four light coats. Whats really nice about the #1311 is that you only need to wait 2 minutes between coats, so you mist the surface, then repeat a couple of times , the pores will seal and then a thin layer will form and in ~10 minutes you are done.

That is uber bling...BTW
I'm working up the nerve to use the glitter blast (diamond dust) which is thicker stuff so I guess one more coat of matte, wait the 2 min and blast away!

All "lurkers" are welcomed. This is most important part..."but at least i'm off the stinkies, since January 2014"

Less than a year off stinkies and you landed here. You are lucky and you've come to the right place :)

yeah, less than a year and i've already been around....

built my own side by side semi mechanical, but the it had a cheap 510 connector that stripped out, (before i knew about Fat Daddy's)
printed out the plans and was going to adventure into building a Mamu mod, but kids soccer and other activities don't lend much time to mom and dad's activities.
tried to beg and plead with the wife to buy a Bapgood side by side dna mod, but she would kill me for spending that much.

then comes the Reo Grand bottom feeder and she's like, you wanna spend how much on a mechanical !?!?!?!?

so yeah, luckily i stumbled upon this thread! so hopefully by the time the holiday season is past, i MIGHT be able to get the printed parts. i'm going to start with getting the other parts first since i have a couple more months. then get the main components later. Slow going, but we're on a TIGHT budget as of lately :(

Been dripping so much lately, that my Russian 91's just aren't doing it for me anymore, but don't like the drip at work, love the idea of simply squonking.
been thinking of a Squape clone or AGA-T5 to tide me over, but haven't pulled the trigger on either yet. Trying to hold out with what i have till i can afford the Peko.

been thinking about the dna version as i've gotten quite used to my Hana clone, But, although i can solder copper water pipe with the best of 'em, all those small wire solder's would irritate me severely!

thanks for the welcome.

YAY ME! i ordered on 10/22 and they arrived a few minutes ago (11/3). now i gotta run out to the hardware store to get the krylon matte finish 1311 to prime it unless just using nail polish on it will do the same thing?? i think the nail polish will work fine for the outside, but will probably be much too thick for the inside, right??

So I have been lurking, or well, subscribed to this thread and check in from time to time. I would love to assemble one of these, I just want to know an approximate price for everything alltogether, rough ballpark is completely fine, and approximate difficulty of assembling. I am decently handy with things and like to fiddle til I get things right, I just don't want to spend weeks once I have all the parts to get it together. I have been looking to get a bottom fed mechanical for a while now.

you'll be at a big disadvantage obtaining all the bits and pieces necessary to build - not that they are that expensive per se but some you have to take in large quantities and the expense of shipping from all those different vendors will add up mighty fast :(

please, check into getting verified to have access to group buys and classifieds.

atm all you can do is find a few more people in the same boat as you to make this feasible to some degree. gdeal's build doc should give you info on all parts needed and the appropriate links to the vendors' website

Ah, ok. How large of quantities are we talking? I don't mind having spare parts for anything, and if I have plenty could always PIF to someone in my shoes. I am deciding between one of these and a 50-100W box mod. Could I get by with under $100 for this?

i believe the peko itself is way under a 100 bucks for the 3d print especially since gdeal obtained a 10% discount code for new orders. unfortunately, the bits and pieces are coming from ~~~ 10 different vendors all with a minimum of about $7.00 shipping :(
you can do the math ..............

if you could obtain all the parts from just one vendor it wouldn't be more than $10 to $15 for what's needed

Ron, best bet is to submit to get verified and add yourself to the reserve list. The more on the reserves, the better chance of another group buy. At the very least, it'll let you scrounge the classies for some good deals on items.

That said, you'll likely end up spending more than $100 when you factor in bottom feed atties.

Any way, glad to see ya lurking over here ... NT jooses are built for bottom feed mods.
