I've seen that happen before with neutral-color dye on synthetic fabrics before. Usually cotton comes out very close to the color on the package, but acrylic and polyester shift for some reason, and you notice it more with the neutrals than saturated colors.

As Tibs says, it's a very nice, earthy green, even if not as intended. You could likely neutralize it more by a quick soak in thinned orange.

Rit dye job complete. Was going for a rust color but ended up a little light. Good thing is print lines kinda look like wood grain. Curious to see if that is amplified with sealer.

Nice job. Looking like I'm not going to get around to mine until at least Sunday, so I'm glad you guys got to storm ahead.

Did you dye the ring and button as well, Roscoe, or had you ordered them in black?

Tan dye gave you green color?

yeh. of course i didn't read the directions - i mean geez, it's just permanent tan dye. how bad could it get? dark brown maybe?? heh. i sure didn't think it would go dusty green though.

i started out with 4 cups boiling water and ~8 tablespoons of the liquid dye. it didn't seem to be changing much from the white, so i dumped the entire bottle in and that is the results.

i really am happy with the color. i am probably going to nail polish the button and the ring.

They are a dark rust brown color. saved a bit of my rust colored dye and added it to a dark brown.

getting verified = ability to group buy...

how does 1 get Verified? I need to get Verified, lol. Even searching all my vendors i deal with through work, i still can't buy less than packs of 100, 50, 20, etc.

I only want enough to build like.... maybe 4 at most. however, i DO get company discounts at places like McMaster Carr, Grainger, Fastenal, as we have large accounts with them, any many others too...

IF anyone is interested in taking to time to see if you can source a majority of the parts through 1 of the vendors i listed (with part numbers), i would be willing to help out on a group buy, If / When i can get verified.

You can go here: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/announcements-news/283955-how-become-verified-member.html
to get information about getting verified. I understand that there are some delays in verification now do to personal problems befalling the administrator. Be patient.
There is a person on the thread-that-shall-not-be-named who is working on getting another order for these parts together. If you contact him, the two of you could cooperate on getting another group buy.

I finally got some time to get her going, hits like the proverbial freight train. I've got to play with the connector a little bit, maybe try a thinner o ring to get the atty sitting flush but loving it as is for now.
I was going to go with black on my ring n button too, looks great, I got lazy n used shinny flake nail polish BC I only had flat black. I like that a lot!

Try no O-ring too. Never put one on my rig and have used a Nuppin and a Odin. No leaking issues either.

The o ring in question is the one around the screw in the 510, the o ring at the base of the atty is just filling space right now. Are you running without the o ring in the 510?
