Ron, best bet is to submit to get verified and add yourself to the reserve list. The more on the reserves, the better chance of another group buy. At the very least, it'll let you scrounge the classies for some good deals on items.

That said, you'll likely end up spending more than $100 when you factor in bottom feed atties.

Any way, glad to see ya lurking over here ... NT jooses are built for bottom feed mods.
Haha definitely! With everyone having reos, I definitely want to get some bottom fed mods. I will definitely get verified by the end of the week and join the reserve. I may even make a couple units to help up the count.

I checked out getting verified thread and will be completing that soon. Then I may need some guidance to find a group :)

complete it now! there is only one person doing the verifications and he just lost his dad :(
it might be a while till he gets back but once he does he'll do the requests in the order they were received and he'll be working through a backlog

YAY ME! i ordered on 10/22 and they arrived a few minutes ago (11/3). now i gotta run out to the hardware store to get the krylon matte finish 1311 to prime it unless just using nail polish on it will do the same thing?? i think the nail polish will work fine for the outside, but will probably be much too thick for the inside, right??

Got my two Pekos, today, as well, and go figure, they look pretty much exactly like yours. There was a complete DNA 3.1 in the same order/shipment placed on 10/23, all in white polished. I'd say quality is pretty much on par with the white polished set Gdeal first posted from Sculpteo—which is to say pretty darn good. One of the Peko internals slid in just about effortlessly. The other required a little back-and-forth sliding to wear down the resistance. Fit on the rings and tops is near perfect, and the buttons. I'll post about the DNA on the other forum.

Now to get some Rit dye and Krylon. Probably won't get a chance to work on them 'til the weekend, though.

Phibbus be sure and post some pics of the Rit dye job we are all interested to hear and see how it turns out.

I got my sculpteo parts today as well. all parts fit perfectly. I got unpolished white. I intend to do the rit dye on mine as well. I would like to do some sanding first though. Anybody got any tricks for sanding this material?

Main thing I found was go slow with the sandpaper and make sure your hands and work area you set it down on are clean. Hand sanding worked much better for me than power tools. As always, get the marks out from the last grit then go to a finer one. I started with 180 if I remember correctly in a random pattern to get the print lines out. Oh, also use fresh sandpaper or whatever you used it on before will be deposited in the pores which will lead to a palmface and lots more sanding.

Thx. My goal is not to completely remove the texture but just to minimize the print lines and smoothing of all edges.

Yeah, that's pretty much what I want to do, as well. I'm liking the texture of the plastic a lot more than I thought I would, and I don't want to lose it altogether. It reminds me a bit of the substantial feel of Modiano plastic playing cards (the rougher pvc ones, not the slick cellulose acetate.)

We can compare notes on the dye. My first one is going to be straightforward black, and I think I'll leave internals white. Not sure if I'll do an accent color on the ring and button on that one, but I may still try my fret wire ring idea, if I have some time.

I'd intended the second as a gift, so I'm not sure how funky I can go on color, but maybe I will, anyways. I'll be sure and post before and after pics.

will you be sealing it with the krylon matte finish before using the rit dye? or after?

Work cancelled today for me so I will be sanding and possibly attempting to dye today. I plan a two tone color scheme.
