So got my "gray" sculpteo peko. I say "gray" because it looks more purple than gray. Seems like a good candidate for painting or dying.
The o ring in question is the one around the screw in the 510, the o ring at the base of the atty is just filling space right now. Are you running without the o ring in the 510?
Guys does the alumide need to be sealed? I don't want to lose the natural shininess it has.
Nice. So i was browsing for local clear coats. there is no krylon here for sure. However I found a brand called motip which is claiming to be number 1 on europe. But the gloss is acryl and the mat is alkyd. I read that the alkyd is brittle. So I'm worried.Mine is sealed with Krylon, and I can tell you that without it, it would be a hot mess of smudges. About 4 light sprays has not changed mine in any discernible way.

@Drunk_J - what brand/type paint did you use on that? and is that the swirl method?
that copper cap brings out the copper paint. very subtle. very nice.
Thank you and my apologies, didn't get an email that there were any new posts on this thread. The paint was just Testors model paint from HobbyLobby, but I blended the color. This experiment was sort of a cross between swirling and hydrographics. Have learned that trying to get the base color to come out with swirling doesn't work well. Initially I had painted the base color a hammered copper and was then going to swirl the patina on top. Even the very thinned patina colors created an almost complete coverage over the mod and totally hid any copper from coming through. So I did a second step where I floated the copper, created the shape I wanted, it completely skinned over and then I applied it to the mod (this kept the second layer from hiding the first). So the bright copper coming through was actually the last layer instead of the first. Wanted texture on this mod, but didn't work out and might try a different approach on a rusty metal or corroded bronze finish.
so i guess i need a few more posts before i can even try to get verified. but i'm not the post bomber type, so i'll just wait my time...

ehhh, don't be shy kawboy613. how many more posts do you need?
very good info and thanks! it's looking like i'll be making a trip to hobbylobby (or hobbylobby.com) the nail polish has not been going well, but then ValHeli warned me about it probably drying too fast --- ValHeli was right. i've dipped and painted and stripped one case 4 times already. heh.
soooooooo for me, it's been ok that the hardware is not readily available, cuz once that's in place, i really don't care what it looks like - i'll be vaping it.
;-D
If your paint dries to fast then it needs thinning. Fyi, don't waste the money on testers thinner. For the same price as a coupled ounces of their brand, you can get a half gallon. And i use it for cleanup. For super fast paint stripping i use acetone. Trust me, one out of every two get stripped and repainted.
