Being a new kid on the block and arriving unfashionably late to the party.[emoji57] I have been trying to only chime in when I have something useful to say which isn't all that often unfortunately. Pretty talented crowd around these parts. I am learning a lot.

ETA. My sculpteo order shipped today and was ordered on 22nd. Original ETA was 31st so they aren't too far off.

Question to those that have the difference. I'm deciding on either the peko mod from sculpteo or just getting a reo grand. Thoughts?
A PeKo has the same capacity (18650 and 6ml bottle) as the REO Grand. The PeKo is quite a bit smaller, lighter, and has better squonking ergos. However, it is printed plastic, not billet aluminum. Moreover one does not simply order a Peko from Sculpteo; one also needs to get all the other miscellaneous parts and then actually assemble it. :D

Here's mine:

The Reo Grand is a tank. It comes with everything you need and it will last years and years of dependable service. but also weighs like a tank. The PeKo cheaper, very much lighter and more ergonomic. Longevity is probably lessoned due to the plastic, but if something breaks, you can just have that part reprinted. Some assembly required. Lol

Those look super small. What is it compared to a hammond g box.

The last time I checked it, the estimated ship and arrival dates were Nov. 3 and 5 (which I think were the initial estimates when I placed the order.) Today after receiving the email with "We expect that the delay will be no more than a few days at most," the estimated "shipped" date on the site is tomorrow (Oct. 30) with estimated arrival on Monday (Nov. 3.) Maybe Sculpteo is so backed up they've started moving backwards through time? Heck, a few more delays and I might get the parts last week :D
OK, so not only did that "delay" subtract two days from my estimate, but all three full polished white prints actually did ship, yesterday, and are now 60 miles from my house. That's still less than 8 full days since I placed the order.

Even though I also got the "Your order may be delayed" email, the grey non-polished was delivered 10 minutes ago, exactly when they said they would deliver when I ordered it. I reckon the two white ones will come in next Tuesday just as promised as well.

The parts look very good. The fitting is awesome. Now I have to get the internal parts and the fun may begin......

Cheers.

Shapeways' polish brass is pretty nice, but IMO they're excessively proud of it:

For comparison, these are some of their steels:

Those last comparisons look just like my silver paint job, must be something about the plastic that makes it bubble like that. Perhaps I should have used the matte finish first?

How many coats of the matte finish? My first became completely absorbed.

The first coat of matt will absorb. I do three or four light coats. Whats really nice about the #1311 is that you only need to wait 2 minutes between coats, so you mist the surface, then repeat a couple of times , the pores will seal and then a thin layer will form and in ~10 minutes you are done.

That is uber bling...BTW
