I decided to wait since I have some gin in my system lol! I will probably pick up parts for what I need to assemble and paint it tomorrow and finish it by Monday or Tuesday. I may start fiddling with it tonight though. Anyone have an easy paint and clear coat method for indoors? I have heard a couple being passed around, but want something solid for now. Once I have funds for a second shell I may experiment. Anyone messed with acrylic paint as well? I have some left over from an art class last semester, so I was thinking seal, paint, and seal again. Thoughts?
Also, after seeing Katz Deli on Impractical Jokers, I am extremely jealous that yall can eat there whenever!
I can't suggest anything beyond the prep I performed because, well, I'm mostly drunk and totally lazy... I just hit my Peko shell with Krylon matte 1311 as per the build doc recommendation. Threw down a light single coat, let it sort of dry, and misted on an even lighter second coat. Damn thing still looks exactly as it did right out of the box, which is a good thing. I'm kind of fond of the raw printed look. So, now it's sealed and the look is straight up unfinished.
I did buy some "aluminum" colored Krylon which I intended to use on the button and ring. However, after shooting some on a piece of cardboard I decided to roll with the au naturale look. I ordered a black print and as Sir Wesley Snipes once pontificated, always bet on black.
As for the indoor part, I was totally cool with spraying the Peko in the storage room in our basement. Apparently, my wife could smell the Krylon before she got home from the grocery store. Probably should have done it in the garage... but, you know, drunk and lazy.
