there's definitely something going on at sculpteo. i ordered that last set i posted about on 1/30/2015 - got a notice on or around 2/8/2015 stating there was a problem and they were reprinting. rec'd them on 2/16/2015. i am just glad they are catching the issues prior to sending them out ... unlike shapeways did.

Gdeal, guys, do you think i should return this? It is supposed to be beige. Does it look normal to you? It has some darker smudges, and in some points it looks dirty. You think a soap and water could fix the dirty part? what about sanding, is it safe to sand and with what grit? Thanks.

i like it the way it is, but then i'm a fan of the *grunge* look as you may have seen from the grunge abstract one i did. ;-D

Aal - That actually looks like a nice smooth print, but that last picture looks a bit extreme. Some other guys have beige too, but mine came with similar horizontal dye lines. (See the build doc.) I am not sure whats up with that long streak? I wouldnt sand it., the dye is not deep. If you do sand, you will need to paint the mod.

If you arent satisfied, send Sculpteo CS a note with the last two pictures and ask them if they would be willing to reprint it. BTW washing the mod wont hurt it.

Thanks buddy. I won't bother. if the horizontal lines are common then no issues. Up until now i have had blacks whites, alumide and brown, it is the first time i get a light color, so probably it is normal. I was more worried about the black "dirt", it is like someone dropped it before packaging it lol. I will wash it out and see how it goes.

Something may be going on.....But I would rather have my mod late than come with print flaws or a broken piece. +1 on the actual quality check process at Scultpteo. And it also looks like they are fast tracking the reprint, which is a smart business move.

yes this one was a re-print. it had issues first and the re-print took way faster.

original canceled bad one:

I hope they dont just toss these mods. While the dye job was Fubar'd in the first picture, the mod is totally paint-able, the print look good. Did you get a 2-1 gift or did they not send the first one?

They did not send the first one. One day after i received the email, i logged to the account and saw that "there was an issue with the print", so they re-printed it, and way faster.

I have 2 Pekos. Love them. Sold both my reos since they weren't getting any loving. I'm glad I bought 4 kits with the gb awhile back, but now I feel like I need to get a couple more kits since I've picked apart the 2 other kits for spares and replacements. I probably have 1 more peko I could pull off with what I've got left.

Well, at least they look much nicer than they did without paint. Don't get me wrong, not super .... about it all being perfect, but looks good enough for me! And a vast improvement from when I received them.

im glad I was able to get mine from someone that wasn't ripping me off.i didn't mind the 100 for a full kit not put together and 25$for a parts package only.was that a "fair " price ya'll think?

Supposedly, the parts kits she bought was on her own dime and not through a co-op that we had... Shipping charges on some of those parts was expensive to say the least. Could've been in the $20-$30 range alone, just for shipping. The Peko shell she bought was at least $70 each with shipping... I don't think $120 was really out of the ballpark... I could be wrong though...

did not know they weren't co-op stuff.my sculpteo shell was just a bit over 70$ that I just orderd.bigflyrodder was way cool with the transaction I made with him for my parts.sounds like the other parts weren't to high priced for what there were afterall, specially with shippin for who knows how many diff places.

did not know they weren't co-op stuff.all the same still be glad when ya can buy the kits online w/o all the shipping charges to boot.my sculpteo shell was just a bit over 70$ that I just orderd.bigflyrodder was way cool with the transaction I made with him for my parts.sounds like the other parts weren't to high priced for what there were afterall, specially with shippin for who knows how many diff places.

Just to give an idea how freight can add up, I bought 5pcs of the nut that goes in the button and freight to me on those 5pcs was $6... Now add in some of the parts carry a minimum quantity or order $ amount on top of freight. The 6-32 brass nuts for the feed screws are only like $3 per 100 pcs, but freight is something like $12 on top... It adds up quick. Those that missed out on the co-op had to do this in order to get parts to build one... Desperation leads to bad decisions, but that's just a part of vape life...

would be a pain to go uptown to the hardware store and try to piece together stuff to make one of these work so I see where the desperation leads for sure.

Gdeal I washed all the parts with soap nothing changed. The dirt or dark marks like you see below:

Did not go away as well as the long vertical dark streak. Just letting you know that these seems as a burst of extra paint or something on all the edges that became too dark. It's like a spray paint that has gone bad lol.

Either ways I'm not disappointed. It will still go well with the brown :).

Time for some alkyd lacquer on this beige one. It will give it extra yellowing. Will post pics when assembled.
