It's funny, the thread was a mixed bag of sour attitude of missing out and confusion and negativity here and there with sprinkles of congratulatory remarks that morphed into a haven of kindness, sharing and goodwill.

I'm sounding like an echo chamber here but seriously, this may be the best forum out there in regard to tolerance and good vibes. I was brought to tears earlier to be honest, not ashamed to admit it.

Yeah I cry during movies, big woop wanna fight about it? [emoji14]op:
ECF really is a great place. The people, knowledge, and support in one place is great. The contests are not even the highlight of ecf....yes they are great and there are so many nice people to meet in them, and knowledge. It is the threads that you come across on here that you can find the true heart of ecf.... whether they be hangout threads, one specific topic thread, or just a help thread.

The Reef just off the Florida coast
It's going on two days now, so that's why I asked how it worked out for the first group.
Gotta wait for all of the prize picks from folks ahead of you in the list.

Thank you So much for that post. I really needed that today. There were a few people on here that sent me direct personal messages. I have not stop smiling since. My cheeks hurt. I am so happy I found this place. Your words were well appreciated. Wanted to say thank You.

Just a reminder, another thing I've learned in my 70+ years.... NONE of us is perfect or in some cases even near that mark! (yet)
So we all need an occasional reminder of this, gives us a chance to share a loving word, to be patient, helpful, let others know they are loved even tho not yet perfect, and perhaps they're just having a bad day. ie, cut them some slack, like we've received on our own bad days, hopefully (grin). ECF is a wonderful place to practice these newly learned things! The response is very rapid, in that we see the good come out in folks when we treat them as we'd like to be treated.

Hugs to you! I really felt for the trials you're going through! Made me sit back and think mine weren't so bad! Hope you can find that same thing in your life, tho it won't change a heck of a lot, it'll help you endure what is on your plate, perhaps, a bit more easily (?). I hope so. The one comment about 'what do you do? sit on a charger?' or some such, made me laugh in the middle of hearing some of your issues lately. See, there is also room to laugh, even while going thru tough stuff!! All this certainly keeps our life lively and NOT BORING, right?
Glad I could help, as imperfect as I feel sometimes!

WHEEE!!!!! I'M A WINNER!!!!

Not the contest, but Related! After NOT winning the Tiffany Provari (My 2.5 year old one is SO beat up and missing finish) I decided to salve my disappointment by ordering a GloVari. The DAY I ordered it, my wife was complaining to me about her 1.5ohm drip atty's burning her mouth on her mech mod. I put a Kick in it, and it helped but, she doesn't like the extra length. So I gave her my beat up old blue Provari and dialed her down to 2.9v

Now, she has a habit of setting things down in places that she forgets. Glasses, keys, but worst of all, her mod. So I'm thinking Hmmmm.... a Glovari might prevent that problem!

So today, my treasured new GloVari shows up, and I prompty take the Priority box to her and told her, babe, this is for you. OH MY GOD! She LOVES it. So here I am still using my old beat up one. lol. But I have the happiest wife in the world today.

Moral of the story guys....

When you leave your house, remember to kiss your wife goodbye. Otherwise, you might just kiss your house goodbye.

I've been known to cry during episodes of MASH, and even Twilight Zone.
Heck, I've been known to cry during some commercials.

And I'm 6'5 and 250 lbs, and I eat nails and crush beer cans on my head.

But I'm overly empathetic.
Way overly empathetic.

I can't even watch those Humane Society commercials.

The one thing I've learned in all my years of life, is that none of us, can do everything ourselves, we need our friends, and folks we don't know, to help out. Some of us where born to be a mechanic, or electrician, or plumber or whatever. so we all need each other to make this world work. No one person can do it all. So I try to help others when I can, as much as I can, hoping, that when the day comes that I need help hopefully it will be there.

"We'd never know how high we are
till we are called to rise;
And then if we are true to plan,
our statures touch the sky."
So that's an Emily Dickinson poem?
I should probably read that.

Jonathan Livingston Seagull is my favorite book of all time.
It defines me, and then describes me.

Or at least I hope so.

I've decided I can CHOOSE my family LOL. And ECF has become my "home", and some members are starting to feel more like family than some of my blood relatives.
This.

I am not a "blood is thicker than water" kind of person.
I try to surround myself with people I can love and respect, no matter what blood they have.

I don't know if that's a good thing or not.
It just is.
