LOST IN THE CLOUDS-USA
Though some may say I have bad luck lately, I have had 2 back surgeries last year, and 1 maybe 2 more in my immediate future. The hardest part not being able to work. All a result of being rear-ended at a red light. Either way I got to meet and hang out with some new to me folks, and we had a great evening chatting... Thanks for the info on the Rayon @USMCotaku still on my first coil with it, but enjoying it immensely.

OMG that is just scary. Why so many? I only ask cause on Monday I was told they want to do surgery on my back. BUT the cant guarantee that it will fix it. I hear you on not being able to work. I was a workaholic and it sent me in a tail spin. Not knowing what to do with myself and all.

It's strange when I Inspect Element the page it says the post counts are up to over 15,900,000. Does that count include deleted posts too or something I wonder?
I wonder how they determined the actual displayed 15 millionth then. Must have figured out the difference or something

It was stated by SJ that it was approximated and then randomized from the approximate time. And yes, there are areas of the forum that were excluded, and deleted posts that didn't count.

It was all on the up and up, no silly stuff, but not an exact science.

I'm not proud of how much time I just spent on this, but I found the 15 millionth post as labeled by the site. I'M NOT TRYING TO DISCREDIT OR ARGUE ABOUT THE WINNER it was more of a scavenger hunt for me. Here it is Newbie rebuildable problem | Page 2 | E-Cigarette Forum . Browsed through the forum checking the inspect element on some pages to figure out it must have occured on January 10th, 2015. So I then went to the new members forum figuring that might be a good place to start since it's probably one of the most active I figured, and I guess I got lucky and stumbled on it. The post could have been anywhere on this site so I guess I'm really lucky considering there was 5000+ posts on January 10th, even though I must have checked close to 50 pages or more of posts on the 10th to find it. Still pretty cool to know that the 15 millionth post just blew by like any other mundane post. Maybe I'll try finding the 10,000,000th sometime... Still can't believe I found it though!!

By the way, you can tell that's the 15 millionth post if you look at the URL, or you can right click on the post and click "Inspect Element" and it's in there as well.

And SJ didn't really explain my discrepancy. He says the 15millionth post and runner ups are being taken from the prize thread and the rest of the forum. I was wondering what the 900,000 post difference was about since as you can see I found what the site code is at least calling the 15millionth on January 10, 2015. My guess again is that it's due to deleted comments or maybe something else besides posts in threads adds to that count as well. Either way congrats to the winners, I'm just bored and nerding it up..

Looks like there's been a little confusion here. For clarity: we have a system which prints off ALL forum posts live as they come through. So the 15millionth post and the runners up were chosen from posts being made on the whole forum, and not just in that thread.

Of course, given the activity in that thread at the time, the majority of winners are likely to be from posts there.

Hope this clears things up!

Might want to consider giving this user a prize to if there's any left overs. Newbie rebuildable problem | Page 2 | E-Cigarette Forum He's I guess what the site labeled as the 15,000,000th post by however the URL and post identifiers are determined. As I was discussing above this is close to 900,000 different from the messages count in Forum Statistics of the 15million everyone was chasing. Might have spent a bit too much time trying to find that one, but I got lucky and stumbled on it. Just thought it was cool and might be a nice surprise for the guy if there is any room, since its a 15millionth post everyone can click on and see the 15,000,000.

I would guess that the number that you are seeing refers to the ID number assigned to the post in the database. This is different than an actual post count, as IDs may not be assigned sequentially or may not have started at zero. Also, as you noted in a subsequent post, deleted posts are assigned IDs; depending on the how the software is written, draft posts could also be issued IDs--and then stored or not depending on whether the draft is actually posted.

I wish I could contribute to this ultra nerdy debate, but I'm too busy picking up the bits and pieces of my brain off this roof from my mind being BLOWN!

Under the laws of E=MC^2 I am the winner. It's easy to see ;).
