Im new to the whole forum thing so im sorry if this isnt in the right place. But ive been vaping for about 2 years. I have always had trouble when building dual coils. Whether on an rda or rta. Ive tried claptons, fused claptons, alien claptons, regular kanthal of almost every gauge. Every single time i do dual coils it always tastes extremely dull. I know im building the coils right, no hot spots or shorts. It drives me nuts that i see other people vaping dual coils and enjoying it but i cant lol. I wick correctly as well. Anyone have any clue as to what the problem might be?

Two coils is just twice as many as one coil, that's a strange one. Are you running them on a regulated or a mechanical device? Both coils need to identical physically and electrically or you may get uneven heating. More coils means more mass which will require more power to get them up to heat.
Can you share some more information and also some pictures of your builds?

On the note of "dull" I somewhat experience this with dual coils.

I notice with "twice the coils" comes "twice the vapor", and also "twice the flavor" ;) with some juices that are already high on flavor, dual coils mute that specific juice, just like any other flavor starts muting itself when it's really high %

Sorry everyone that it took me so long to reply. Ive tried probably 5 or 6 different RDAs, ive tried RTAs and some subtanks with rebuildable decks. Ive used probably 50 different kinds of ejuice lol different ratios as well. I dont current have any pics of any builds but next time i build one ill be sure to take a pic. Right now im using the griffin 25mm and i hate that i cant use dual coils on it because of the taste. Also i use regulated mods. I currently use the Reuleaux rs200 and the kbox 70 and my current RDA is the mutation x v4. I know its not the best but in single coil i get some pretty good flavor

Im not limited on power lol i can use 24 gauge kanthal, 6 wraps around 3mm and use those as dual coils and i can vape up to 200w. Ive pushed it pretty much as far as it can go without igniting the cotton lol

Changing you id from 3mm to 2.5id will increase flavour.

You don't need clapton's, fused clapton's etc to get great taste.
I've made almost every type of coil going and can get just as good from boring old non-fancy standard coil's.

RTA's i mostly use 24g 317L or 316L ss at 2.5id but n80 or A1 kanthal is just as good.
I normally shoot between 6-9wraps, if the coil doesnt span the whole airhole on the rta i just make the coil a non-contact so it does.
Make sure the wick is nice and snug, i probably wick tight but i make sure it's nice and fluffy beforehand.
Then i put it on my mod at about 30w and work up in 5w jump's till i hit a nice spot where i'm tasting goodness.

RDA's i use 22g in either ss, n80 or kanthal, and i stilll use 2.5id.

Get your coil's nice and close to the air holes, closer the better.

It's my experience, others may disagree, but for flavor chasing a single coil with a small chamber produce the best flavor. Less vapor, but more flavor.
From the description of you atties and builds, it seems like you are building for clouds. Clapton's are liked mainly because they capture more juice for the short burst of high power in high vapor builds. Just because you have more vapor doesn't mean you're going to get more flavor, that's a misnomer.
I've got a buddy that's a cloud chaser, he uses spaced Clapton's now for more vapor. I've hit his builds, lots of vapor, but not much flavor.
But that's just my .02.
I also agree about getting the coils up and towards the air holes, the more air around the coil, the better all the way around.
