Hi, just recieved some Ce3 carts From SI and having problems.Si Has been very supportive in their CS I just need some more help on the use of these.
I am filling upside down and some of the catridges leak, both on to the battery post of the Volt x2 batt and sometimes on the mouthpiece end.
One of them the catridge would not screw on far enough to work, further attempts to screw cart on farther caused the plastic tubing to twist on the metal linside Chunked it.
Another cart has liquid between the silicon ring and mouthpiece and another will turn on the batt but will not work when this is done it has to be loosened approx 1/2 turn to work.
Another makes popping noises when I draw on it.A couple of the carts seem to work fine.
I am pretty new to this and I would appreciate help on these issues.
What is causing these issues and how do I remedy or alleviate them ?
Also How do I clean before and after use ?
also where do I fill to ?
Thanks, Craig

I have had some of the same problems with leaking, apparently if you blow into the CE3's you will mess up the vacuum and cause it to leak, I think I do this sometimes when I take priming puffs on my auto and that may have been my problem. My other theory is that I wasn't filling them all the way full, and when they got low they were losing the vacuum.

Hi,thanks for the reply.
I have been especially carefull about not blowing into the cart inadvertantly . I also suck the air out using the syringe before refilling and keep the needle below the level of the liquid . I need to know what the heck is going on as i just finished refilling a cart which has prior to now been working fine and now with less than 20 minutes of vaping I looked and the cart was almost empty !I took off the batt and there was liquid all over the batt post!
This is truly getting ridiculous !
I need to know how to adjust the post on the Cart and what else i need to do to to fix this problem.
BTW this is the fourth filling of the cart.
How to take apart and clean and anything else i can do to help!
Thanks
Craig

Sitting down, facing forward.
MrOutlaw says he will be posting a video a little later today on the CE3. In the mean time, to clean them, there are two options.

The easiest, but not as thorough method, is to fill a syringe with water then inject the CE3 RIGHT SIDE UP (battery end down) while it's in a shallow saucer or something. The water will flow through since no vacuum is being created. You can run as much water, or vodka, through as you like to clean things. Blowing air through from the mouthpiece end will help dry things out. A very short, and keep it very short, dry burn will dry things out even more. Be VERY careful if you do dry burn because the atomizer can burn out very quickly with no liquid on it

The more thorough method, and more of a pain, is to remove the silicon end cap, then, using a syringe, dental pick, or other very slim object, removing the inner silicon seal. Once that's out, a pair of strong tweezers or fine needle nose are used to gently wiggle the center post out. At that point a more effective cleaning can occur. Once cleaned, swab the tube dry with your method of choice, q-tip or tissue, reassemble in reverse order, air tube in first, inner silicon seal second (make sure the air tube is centered and lines up with the hole for it in the inner seal), then fill it up, replace the tip, and vape away. Agan, if you elect to dry burn do so with extreme caution. I haven't dry burned when I cleaned mine and had no bad tastes when I didn't. I have also read that some people have removed the plastic barrel to gain access to the atomizer. I haven't done that, but they say if you attach the CE3 to an old battery and wiggle gently and slowly, it can be done. Proceed at your own risk with this idea.

There have been problems with the CE3s. Given that the technology is relatively new to vaping and the product is new to SI it's kind of normal for problems to crop up. Their customer support is very good, as you undoubtedly know, so be a little patient and things will work out. I've been lucky with mine, so far, and really appreciate the difference in taste and vapor amount versus a traditional carto, and SI is working on another version that won't require a syringe to fill that should be along winthin the next two months or so.

I would not remove the tube. These have an o ring on the bottom where the tube attaches. If it doesn't get an air tight seal when you put it back together, it will leak

The outer barrel. There really is no reason to unless you are going to attempt to recoil it, which isn't worth it.

I didn't think remocing the outer barrel was a good idea, but have seen posts that talk about doing it. A touch of silicon could keep it air tight when re-assembeling.

I have one that is kind of shot and, once I clean it out, I'll probably try that. I was in Home Depot yesterday and found that 808 thread seems to be metric 8mmx1.0. Now, all I have to do is modify a bolt to get rid of the end taper and I can make a solid fixture for fooling with cartos and CE3s. A little more creativity and I'll add a center post for electrical connections as well.

One caution if using a tissue to wipe down the inside of the tube is to not stick it in far enough to mess with the wicks. It’s easy to either misalign the wicks or have strands touching the coil if you’re not careful.

About removing the outer tube. I did this on a couple and didn’t notice any o-ring. Can you verify this? There seems to be some glue holding it onto the base and it’s difficult to remove the first time, but I haven’t had any problems reattaching it to the base. I did this to re-align the wicks on one, and to get a more thorough cleaning on another to get the gunk off the coil. After re-assembly there was no leaking.

It's not that hard to clean or load a CE3. Loading is much more precise since you can see, rather than guess, how much liquid you're putting in.

Being semi-retired I do have some spare time, but I always like to tinker and would fool with this stuff anyway. I solved the problem of praying to the rain god by installing a drip irrigation system, Just turn the water on and off as needed, usually about two to three hours a day. It keeps water consumption down, saves time and keeps the weeds to a bare minimum. It also save a lot of wear and tear on my well and pump which cuts the elctric bill a little. To me, just the time saved from watering, and I only have about 1000sqft of garden, was worth the investment and time. Heck, if I can spend money on vaping, I can spend a few bucks on growing food.

:)

i don't have a water well and most likely won't till my land is payed for.
i catch rain water to water my garden and my chicken and pigeons.

i carry my house water from the different nieghbors in 7 gal. jugs.
if i was still working i would go the route that you have gone,,in the past i have had a setup like yours but not here and now.

the first time in 8 yrs i had to bring water for the garden in 2 55 gal. drums.

Now, that's too much like work for anyone! I sure hope your prayers are answered really soon, but the long range forecasts aren't looking too good. What's the water table situation like?

water table so far is alright in my area, but i hear in jefferson city and columbia mo. are talking water rationing.
I live 2 miles from the Lake of the ozarks, that may have a bearing on it,though i don't think so.

the whole state is declare a emergency disaster area to help the farmer get assistance help.

It is a clear ring right below the holes for the wick. It sits in a slot. I know that it seals it.

I have taken them apart too and only had one leak, but I know several people, who have had leaks afterwards. Plus, it is really easy to crack the, when taking the tube off. My feeling is these are disposable. If I get 1-2 weeks out of it, everything else is a bonus.

I never noticed it. I must have been lucky with the ones I took apart and re-assembled. Now I'm going to have to take one apart to see it!
(just kidding).
