I just received my GLV2 5V after two months of waiting. I charged the battery and was ready for my first hit... nothing.

So I went through the process of
-adjusting the atomiser screw
-unscrewing it all the way and checking there's this tiny ball in place
-made sure the batteries are touching the plate in the headcap
-noticed the plate in the headcap is tilted, fixed it carefully with a screwdriver http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/greatlakesvapor/123087-glv2-not-working.html
-tried cleaning/scratching the plate a little bit
-tried different attys that work on other cigs

I emailed sales@greatlakesvapor as they have no support but got no answer yet. Figured I might aswell ask if anyone here has new tricks for me.

Black cap on the bottom side of the headcap; remove it, inside is an allen head screw. Turn this clockwise. this will move the pin closer to your atty/carto. Counterclockwise does the obvious. You can make adjustments doing this.

Let me know how it is going.

Hmmm, just noticed that it appears as you have played with that some......
Outside chance the the wiring and/or resistor under the plate in the cap could be shorting out.

At the moment I'm very tempted to hassle with the plate as it seems I'm left with a somewhat expensive paperweight. Obviously seems to be the problem as it was tilted in the first place.

But I might just destroy it doing that. Maybe I should wait for response from greatlakesvapor before doing anything radical like using it as a hammer.

edit - I tried the method #3 but didn't work.

Thanks for trying to find a solution tho.

I have one without the plate on my 5v. And my new mini has the plate - I am curious of how that plate come out as well because I want to do some customizing by retrofitting a same brand switch but different style.

Believe me I understand your frustration, just hang in there, I think you will really like it once it is operating correctly.

The GLV2 5v I have never had the plate installed in it. It was built before Jay had implemented this upgrade into production.

The GLV2 mini has the plate as this is now in production for I believe all GLV's as is the larger vent hole. Yours should have the larger vent too right? I have a C-clip remover/installer tool to get that out. I am just concerned on the plate because I can't find a seam or a split in it to remove it. I haven't given it ALOT of effort yet but I do plan on figuring it out.

I'd call Jay, but dont have a lot of time as I work 3rd shift. Also, really didn't really want to pay to ship it in if that is whats needed. Thanks for the pic! Did you figure out how to remove the plate after you take off the c-clip? So from what I can tell (as the pic is a bit dark), the resistor is soldered after the wire is connected to the switch, and before the pin connection, is that correct? Gonna do it tonight ;)
