Do you think it would be "safe"(as it's already broken) to nudge that plate some more? Is there any change that could work?

I don't really like the idea of opening the thing up and trying to fix it with my limited skills and tools. Also I don't like the idea of sending it back half way around the world.
Kinda like the idea of blind violence and a heap of luck...

Edit: And I don't know what's up with my last post which was sent at 5AM friday night.

I'm not sure how the plate comes out, so not sure. I do know I've completely disassembled my Mini down to the pin amd said f it! And took that out too. Why? Because it already gets horrible connection, and as far as i can tell there's not an issue. At least not visually. So either 4 cartos were bad, or its the switch. If I were u, id do it knowing the simplicity. There's not much inside.

OK- just getting ready to wrap up my night, I did recieve my newest GLV today and forced into taking it apart. The plate is a piece of PCB that the battery (brass button) is connected to. The other side of that plate or PCB is the positive side wire soldered to the the other side of the brass button. The c-clip or retaining ring just holds the whole assembly within it. I was forced to take mine apart because I tried several cartos and adjusted the pin for each - finally it could not take all the adjustments and the wire came loose from the pin so I was forced to re-solder it. It is all working again now but I surely did not want to take apart a brand new GLV to find all this out.

So here is the pic of the resisted 5v headcap. The resistor itself looks like a small bean.

I just opened mine up(with scissors :D) and there's no bean. Doesn't look anything like that. A mile of wire and a resistor covered in 'black goo'.

Problem could be with how the wiring is soldered on the button as it looks really poorly done.

Edit: Also it smells pretty burnt but can't say if it's abnormal.

Is the plate supposed to be pretty loose? It kinda naturally tilts and I have to give it a little lift to get it straight.

Here's a pic from the side. |-/
I can lift it like this |-| but it falls back from that same side very easily.

I'm gonna have to check what it's gonna cost to send it around the world once more. I'm guessing it's going to get too expensive and take too long.

Probably should just give up at this point and get another ecig which uses the same batteries so I can salvage at least something from it.

Sorry your having such an issue with your GLV . Its not normal for this much hassle. send sara an email and Ill make sure you get a headcap out in the mail. You can send yours back at the same time. Lets just get you a new cap.

Well that's good news :)

You don't mind if I send it back "in pieces"?

I opened the C-clip and it's hard to assemble without proper tools.

And you sent me a new one without the c-clip + the plate is so badly beaten I'll have to take this as a ".... YOU"

Very good business.
I have not sent it out yet. Im not sure how you got it back so quick but I have yours right here waiting to go out today. Contact Sara so we can make sure I have the right person, but You may have our loner head cap.

I didn't want to contact Sara at first so I don't take it out on her. It was you who promised that the new cap will be on the way as soon as I send mine back.

The one I sent shoud be there 30th-2nd(this day) and I got a "new" headcap in mail today(with those problems I was writing of before, just largely exaggarated) so the only reasonable conclusion I could come with was you sending a message.

If it was just a weird coinsidence, well I'm sorry to doubt you would do such a thing.

Jay stated that he is helping him.The person claimed that he took the head cap apart and screwed it up badly before sending it in.He recieved a loner head cap and made things sound worse than what they were(he admitted this too). He then refused to call and deal with the situation properly. Lets not be so quick as to blame Jay for this situation. It seems to me he is not alone in the blame here. Read the previous posts from this person in this forum. He destroyed his GLV and is getting it replaced for free. Thats bad service? I dont feel that way at all. I feel bad the guy has had a rough time, but I feel Jay is being more than fair with him.

I feel bad that this could be taking time away from Jay's efforts to get me my GLV2. Yeah a little selfish. The GLV2 I'm using has been through me, my buddy, and back to me without ever having a problem. I had this pv in my hand constantly; musta pushed that button a gazillion times without a misfire. I want my backup for home use Nebula Green, oooh pretty. I bought a green glass I06 atty drip tip in anticipation. Yeah I'm obsessed but it (vaping) is the only vice I have left. Done now.
