Prodigy batts vs. Protégé -- same?

I have found out the hard way that I need a backup unit. Can anybody here tell me (because I know the PS staff is WAY busy right now moving!) whether the Protégé takes the same batts as the Prodigy V1? I'd like to know before I place my order...

I don't own a V1, but iirc, the V1 takes 1 18650 and the Protoge takes a 14500 (AA cell sized) battery.

I just ordered the full kit, which comes with two batts. Can I use regular AA batts as replacements?

AA batteries won`t work ...they have to be 14500`s

While AA's are the same size as the 14500's the voltage is different.

AA's = ~1.2v / 14500 = ~4.2 - 3.7v
