Prodigy Pre-Order?

Is the plan to open pre-orders for the new Prodigy this week still happening or has that been delayed?

I need a bit of advice I'm thinking of buying a Prodigy when they are available but I want to ask someone who already has one. I know they are far better than a standard battery but how do they comare to a USB passthrough are they miles better or what.

It depends what you are hooking the USB passthrough up to. The Prodigy runs around 5v at 1 amp. The passthrough out of a standard USB port on your computer runs at a steady 5v at .5 amp. If you use the USB port on a wall adapter, a portable powerpack or a cigarette lighter adapter, chances are you are getting 5v at 1 amp. Personally, I notice a difference between 5v at 1 amp versus 5v at .5 amp.

Thats very interesting.

So a USB Passthrough + a USB Wall adaptor which has an output of DV 5.0V 1000MA. should produce the same results as a Prodigy

Actually the loaded voltage would be 4.2 to 4.3 according to Steve.

What's the loaded voltage of a Prodigy when set to 5v?

Unloaded the Prodigy is approx. 6.5 - 6.8, under load I think it's 5.2 - 5.4 ish.
