Alright, I started vaping with the eGo Upgrade 1100 with cartridges. I really enjoyed it but I must be a bit paranoid and I didn't like the cartos because I couldn't see how much juice I had left. I asked a friend that referred me to my local shop and I bought my first tank, the Vivi Nova II. This tank was good but I got a burnt tank way faster that I thought I should for the price of coils and wicks. I did a bit of research because I like Wintergreen juice anyways and I heard about the ProTank and the ProTank II. I went back and forth, didn't order it because I didn't want to pay shipping and I didn't need $75 worth of stuff to get free shipping. I went to my local shop yesterday and they had the ProTank II for $25 and juice was buy 3 for $18 get 1 free. I couldn't resist the instant gratification so I bought a new coil for my Vivi Nova, 4 juices, and the ProTank II. This tank is AMAZING. The best flavor I've had since I started vaping (2 weeks not too long) and I haven't even put the new coil on my Vivi Nova. If you don't drop your setup or bang it around, you should be good with the completely REBUILDABLE ProTank II with a removable drip tip. I'm at about $300 in juice, tanks, and batteries (bought my wife a setup too, she's not as receptive of vaping as I am but she's cutting down). I'm still about $200 in the red compared to analogs but the flavors I can have, the health benefits, and the long term savings to come are definitely worth it to me!

The PT2 is definitely awesome. I have 2 of them. $25 seems a little steep tho. I got mine for around $14.50/ea. I have Vivi Nova's as well. Top coil and bottom coil tanks are totally different animals. I do prefer the BCC tanks myself. I really like the iSmokas too. I have several. Glad you're finding what works for you! :vapor:

I figured it was a bit much but with the new release, the only places I found the tank still in stock were selling them for about $25 plus shipping. I like supporting my local shop because it is a great movement and with a local shop in town, it can reach a LOT more people locally. The only down side of the tank is they exclusively carry eGo batteries so I will have to shop online for my next battery because I want a variable voltage/wattage next time. Any recommendations?

Absolutely! Can't go wrong with the Innokin iTaste VV V3. Awesome battery! I have used Twists and Spinners, which are both VV's (and they are both great), but the iTaste V3 blows them out of the water and for not much more $ if you find a good deal... Has VV and VW, checks resistance, etc.. Has a USB passthrough set up for charging (uses the same connection as most cell phone chargers). It's lightweight. Really perfect, imo. The only downside is it's 800mAh, so if you are a heavy vaper like me, it has to be charged pretty often. However, being a passthrough, it's really not an issue for me.

The best deal I've found is $35 here if you use the coupon code "itastevv", but I think they're out of stock at the moment:

I did get one here for $40, but it looks like it's $45 now:
Innokin iTaste VV V3 Passthrough Battery

Just look around for the best deals/coupons, etc. A lot of people have ordered from Fastech, but I don't have any experience with that (I've heard good and bad):

Thanks for the info. I am new and it is all so overwhelming.

It is all so very overwhelming sometimes. Just keep reading on here. That's how I learn about everything (and continue to learn every day)... there are a lot of people on ECF with a lot of experience and knowledge and offer great advice. Imho, just start with a basic kit to get you going and then read, read, read... little by little you'll find out what you are interested in and you will start adding to your collection :vapor:

Thank you for your comments on Protank II. I've been considering one, but I still love the original protank and have a bunch of them. I always liked metal drip tips tho, so it's not a big deal for me. Going in the red at first is very normal, I am still paying off my initial purchases. I have a vaping app on my phone and the breakeven date keeps getting pushed back when I buy stuff. I think it's now at July 2014.

The Kanger is a great tank for both novice and experienced vapers, your getting the burnt taste with the vivi nova due the the wick being at the top and you have to periodically tilt your tank upside down. Now the Kanger is great as long as you know what your doing, look up how to clean it and take proper care of the Kanger as its a wonder full tank and is my goto!
