I think the Davide and mini davide are slightly superior to the pro tank when it comes to gurgle/leak when less than half full. On the other hand the kangers are easier to fill. The minidavide is especially annoying to fill from a bottle, the holes in the baffle are pretty small.

But that baffle is probably what makes them leak less when low... you can vape a Davide all the way to empty usually.

I have both the Davide, and Pro Tank II, and find that my Davide leaks when laid in it's side. The Kanger has never leaked. Both are great vaping, but because of the leaking, I use the Kanger more. Actually, my second one arrived today, just waiting on my juice to get here to fill it!

I love ProTanks. Not as much as I love my iClear 30's but almost.

The ProTank 1 is known for leaking into the draw tube once the tank gets under the halfway point with juice and it also can leak around the atomizer seal onto the battery contact. Tightening the ato in the housing helps greatly but it still happens.

There is another ProTank that is out now that is not the protank2. Its another revision of the protank1 but with a different tube construction which has so far (1+ month of use) not leaked a single time through the draw tube. No matter what level the juice is at it just doesn't leak. I can only assume its the same design as the protank2 but without the removable driptip.
I have two of these and no leaking at all. I guess I'll call it the ProTank Rev2 as it is sold under the standard protank rev1 name but obiously it has been revised.

Anyways....the protank rocks.

I think part of peoples different experiences is just variations within tolerances. This is all precision stuff and even precise manufacturing still can have the tolerances "stack" when multiple parts have to all work together. No product is immune to that, unless you hand fit every unit.

Forgive me, as I am a newb in the world of vaping. I was thinking of upgrading my eGo C-Twist 1100 mAh with a PT2 until I can afford to upgrade to a better mod as well. Will the PT2 fit on the eGo threads? I see they have male threads and didn't know if they came with an adapter or something.

Yes, it will fit and the Kanger Protank 2 comes with the ring that will cover the threads of the battery.

I have had a protank for about a month now, The best way to describe it is it's like one of your kids. Most days you love them but there are days for some unknown reason they get cranky and act up to the point of throwing them out a window.
Today actually is one of the bad days its been driving me nuts all day and will till I show it some love and break it down and clean it out then it will be back to great vaping.

Just to add my $0.02: if you don't plan on getting into rebuilding the coils anytime soon (though you should cuz cotton wicks in the pt2 have been treating me VERY well) there is a simple improvement - pop the stem off the coil head, remove the silica flavor wicks, and replace with a thread or two from a piece of cotton yarn.
Peaches & creme cotton yarn can be purchased for less than $2 for a ....-ton. The yarn consists of 4 strands twisted together. Cut a piece just long enough to lay over the the wick and coil, separate the yarn, then put 1 or 2 on as your flavor wicks (1 for thicker liquids, 2 for thinner).
Very quick modification that greatly improve performance, flavor, and cloud density.

Finally figured out how to take it all apart. I was just being a wimp. Question, it feels kinda iffy atop the vamo. Like, when its screwed in (even all the way down) if I bump it it will shift and sit sideways on the vamo. Is this common?

Dwarfcat- I am having the same issue with my protank2 atop my vamo3. The 510 threading on the vamo seems to be the culprit, and doesn't have a deep enough well to allow the stem of the protank to fasten all the way down. Kinda sucks because I feel it is affecting not only the finished look of my mod/tank setup by leaving my protank2 a bit crooked, but also the performance as the draw seems inconsistent and will cause flooding if I try to fasten it down any farther.

either way, I actually read that the original protank bases work a bit better and have a slightly shorter stem. I replaced the base of my protank2 with the base from my protank1 and seems to have helped the crookedness. However, the draw is now equivalent to the airiness of the original which I have grown to not like as I prefer an tighter draw such as that from an evod. I broke down and ordered an Innokin SVD from fasttech for $37 shipped which is said to be a lot more compatible with protank 510 connections and also has a pin that springs down to accommodate a longer male connection.

Hope this helps... Although spending more money isn't exactly a solution, I'm due for an upgrade as I'm nearing my 4 month anniversary ( at least that's what I keep telling myself hehe)

I think the Protank is incredibly overrated. It's pretty. It doesn't leak. The airflow is awful though. The hits are far too airy. I hate the sound it makes when you vape it and there isn't a way that I know to customize the draw.

Absolutely, but the airy draw of the PT1 was universally disliked! And Kanger tightened the draw on PT2.

Both, on various batteries. It's not about the wattage I'm giving it. It's about the airy draw and the air holes being bad to fill. It's just not a good vape. The EVOD has a better draw for me, but I don't do plastic. I wish Kanger would make a glass version of the EVOD. Until then, the Aro is my choice if clearomizer. The heads aren't as good as Kangers though.
