Funny that you say that, because that's exactly what I experienced with cotton the first couple of weeks. Very similar to the dry, harsh and burning I encounter with PG. I
had almost given up the idea. It was the least benign wicking option I had previously tried testing on the Protank.
What I did was taper off markedly and weaned myself back slowly. I had made two prior attempts with small drippers and those were a failure off the bat. The third time was the charm when I rather quickly and rather intuitively trusted those instincts to find the right density. It was my prior experiences with the Protank that got me in the right direction to realize I had been over-wicking trying to ensure consistent contact in the PT. Can't do that as we all know. Cotton shrivels, shrinks and ultimately droops. No way you can over-compensate for that.
However maz since acquiring the taste for it, as I can't cancel out the flavor of it, I've found different nuances in my favorite juices with it. So it's been rewarding in its own way.
I've had a love hate relationship with the Protank which has grown into a fondness for it's design and possibilities. The potential to realize some rather impressive approximations of a real tobacco experience. And since seriously permitting myself the pleasure of a t.m.c. exclusively for personal use I've started to enjoy nbacco fruit and other non-tobacco options for the first time. And these work marvelously with a cool vape in a good tight small tank.
I'm certainly no advocate of any one direction of solution even as it may sound that way at times. Rather, perfect what pleases you most. I'm just not sure I know what that is for me. And increasingly it's become...I love it all.
Good luck.
