Just for the record...

I'm going on three weeks using my own coil and the white worsted yarn I mentioned earlier in the thread. That's three weeks with different juices doing nothing but rinsing between fills. No leaks, no dry hits, no burned taste. A touch of a gurgle now and then, but quickly eliminated by turning up the voltage.

To be clear... I have NOT changed the coil or wick.

a day you say ..... wait till day 3 when it dont taste the same and every hit taste differant from the last ... then it will give you dry hits and then it will flood then dry hits then flood .... so you pull it apart and clean it put it back together and like new yaaaay !!!! then it dry hits again an hour later lol and dry hits again so you pull it apart and pull a wick praying it will help but nope... now it floods lol after tons of tinkering flipping gromits and pulling wicks and putting them back in and cleaning the head you finaly get it to vape ok so you say frig this and buy a new head cause you want those clouds of glorious vape again and bamb! new head in and its like new again atleast for 2 days or mabey 3 thn the same crap all over again lol

my wife was using 3 protanks and she swore by them for a whole 2 weeks then gave up and went to carto tanks because she does not want to deal with all the tinkering involved with owning a protank she used to love them now she despises all clearos and usses strictly carto tanks because there is no hastle involved fill the 6ml tank and vape for 2 days every hit is exactly the same as the last flavor and vapor wize and no leaking or flooding involved. shur she sacrafised a little flavor but in the end she gaind reliability... a system that works and works the same each and every time !

i took her protanks and tried useing them myself for 5 or 6 days and tossed them right in the vape draw lol lol lol !!! i dont even have to fiddle with my rba an rda as much as those retarted things !

if your into big flavor and big vapor clouds and dont mind puting a brand new head in every 2 or 3 days or washing and dry burning the one in there or flipping gromits and switching wicks then they are for you but for the price i would expect them to work good at least for more than 2 days before they screw up on you. i mean i spend less time fiddling with my AGI and it works forweeks after its set up lol:closedeyes:
I totally agree! I get sucked into buying all of these clearo type tanks and despise them all. I took the south jersey B&M tour yesterday and bought all kinds (Evod, T3's?, iclear 16 that came with the MVP). Not to mention I already had purchased a Protank. The only one that showed any promise was the iclear and it didn't take long for me to hate that one too!! Cartos or carto tanks IMHO, only way to go!!!

With me Im getting tired of the carto tanks...seems hard to find decent cartos these days. Either they flood or they run dry and burn. I find myself drifting towards evods and protanks more. I clean my heads after every tank and dryburn them once a week. So far they last a really long time and work great! They do use more juice though but I just like just having to fill and vape.

How do you dry burn a protank head? I know I can remove the wicks, but aren't there additional wicks on top of the coil you can't get to? I want to try that, I am getting tired of buying heads all the time.

Vapor Lady Lounge Kanger eVod, Protank, MT3, Cleaning and Burning The Atomizer for Better Vaping - YouTube She uses a evod on this but the technique is exactly the same. Now sometimes with my Protank I have to have a pair of needlenose pliers to get that post off.

The wick that the coils wrap around won't burn.

You must have gotten some bad ones or something. I have been using mine for 2 weeks, and the only reason I ever change coils is when I want to try a different resistance. Rinsing is a breeze. Just get some 5 packs of coils and you always have a dry one ready to go. Haven't had to fiddle at all, and the taste is best I've had so far (except for dripping). Different strokes for different folks an all that I guess.

As for carto tanks, I'm the opposite lulz. Never done so much fiddling or had so much flooding/wasted juice IME. Oh well

I have had the protank since sunvapers first sold them and have had zero problems with them. Besides using a LR306 atty for tasting my juices the protank is the only thing I use, they are the best hassle-free nicotine delivery system on the planet. No dry hits, no gurgling, no leaking, no problems whatsoever. Kanger hit a homerun with this one.

This is what I'm saying. Lol, I don't know how yoh could screw up with the protank. Reliable for sure. I'm not sure how you get a dry hit off one either. Carto tanks leak and flood. I hate cleaning up juice messes, so the protank is definitely for me.

Dropped mine on the kitchen floor and shattered the tank. Back to Vivi Nova until I get something else. Next is a carto tank I guess. Believe it or not I haven't tried one yet.

Sent from my recliner. Retired Navy E-8

there pretty nice, I use a dc tank with boge f16 cartos and have been very happy with this combo. taste awesome and hits like a champ. that being said if the protank keeps working like it is now I my never buy cartos again. ill keep using my cartotank until all 5 of my cartos are gone though (looks like that might take awhile). or sell the all to my brothers friend for cheap to fund something else. maybe

mined sucked at first, changed the coil, burned some crap free sample through it then switched to some mnt vapor 70/30 pg/vg and its kicking .... feels like im uses my cartomizer and taste great. went from extremely unhappy with it to liking it alot

Almost exactly mirrors my protank experience. Dry hits, burnt taste, actually couldn't get the darn thing to fire at all on my 1100 mAh kGo. Took the damn thing apart, fiddled with everything, put it back together, still didn't work quite right. Removed wick, got gurgling, actually was drawing ejuice into my mouth, pretty awful experience.

Let it sit overnight, with juice loaded, and...everything is okay. I was needing plumber's tape to tighten the draw (put on plumber's tape, then poke small holes in vents with pocket knife). Now I let all of my (3 protanks) sit overnight with juice in them before I fire them, it seems (I may just be being spooky here) to help.

Today I got my Vamo V2! Put my filled tank (Jango 4.1 18mg), set my wattage to 8.0, atomizer was reading 2.5 Ohms. Fired away and got a monster cloud of vapor (actually got a cougher). Now happily puffing at 7.5 W, and sucking through juice like a champ. Never had a leak. I mostly just rinse with hot water between juices, blow dry with a puff from my air compressor (or let sit overnight if I'm not in a hurry). I just established a weekly routine of dissembling all tanks (and CE4/5's and Vivi-Novas) and sonicating them in 100 proof ethanol for 30min. Couldn't be happier with my protanks, my vivi's, that's another story...

the protank works better with a mechanical mod where u can adjust the contact pin. u might want to use a plier to pull down the contact point from the coil. mine had to be pulled before it contacts my eVic

My only complaint with the ProTank is that it always seems to be empty! Yes, I have had to adjust the wicks on one of the coils I got with it, but other than that it's been extremely reliable. I do keep checking for leaks because I go through juice so fast with it. Cloud of vapor is where it's all going though.

What has surprised me the most is how easy the coils are to rebuild. I am enjoying experimenting with these coils much more than I ever did with a true rebuildable.

Yes, yes, and yes!
