Imeo, any news about your final decision on brass version?

Just to force... ehm, help you ;) getting the right decision, a little schematics of possible colour variations:

:p

 nice work! glad to see i am not the only visual person. :D

if i understood correctly, the progression would be
- initial batch with brass electronic tube. so it would be
#1
#6 & #4 (once brass tubes are released)

- future batch with ss electronic tube. so it would be
#3
#2 & #5

i think yes fog. What concerns me is that users will put off electronic part frequently to clean brass and thats something that I dont really want.

That makes sense Imeo.

But I think you don't have out the circuit board tour to clean the brass of the electronic part on the outside?

We can live with no cleaning of the inside tube for brass proteus.
Also if we don't touch with hands inside it will not get so tarnish if any.
Nobody clean copper contacts on the inside of audio video equipment and it is the same on Provari inside electronic.
If electronic modul is complitly close,no need to clean or take it apart.

If it was up to me I would have sealed it with wax or silicon and that's it.
If it broke then one will have to buy a new modul that will come already inside tube!

This modul can be made sealed in compatible tubes to the GG mods, in brass and in steel,
And any one should be able when buying separately the modul to choose the outer sleeve that he prefer.

I dont worry about the internal of brass tube Its because it doeesnt need cleaning. In fact we must NOT ever clean it. I worry about the external of the tube because some people may think that they have to put out pcb to clean well the tube

There is no reason for that also.
A bit of cape cod and towel is enough for this.

Also one option is to Make them Fix on the tube if they are bare and not covered.

Second option is to put a polycarbonate tank or plastic shrink sleeve around them if you like,
So when someone grab it he won't touch the Semiconductors contacts.

to my opinion, the removable style of pcb is a great choice Its. I just dont trust all customers lol
Anyway, one more reason that I want to make it SS is because if you clean the brass tube and if you are not careful, the polish will go through button. Nothing special until here because you just take off button and wipe the polish. But are we sure that all people will remove polish properly or the polish will go inside pcb?
The solution is an SS tube. Experienced users can buy a brass tube of course

The pcb is a ridiculously easy to remove and I think that will encourage people to remove it more often, resulting inevitably in some accidents. This will cause headaches for Imeo, his resellers and the customer. It can't be isolated for various reasons so making the tube from steel to discourage the polish freaks is a sensible decision in my opinion.

I follow your thinking Imeo.

But if you are going to offer separate brass tubes later, the perceived problem will still be there. Only later. There are little possibilities to distinguish between experienced and novice users?

Would you concider giving us the option at time of purchase Imeo? I know there will be many people like me who would like Proteus as it was intended to be, with the brass switch housing and would concider it to be incomplete without it. If the brass tube is offered as an option at a later date the 1st thing any user is going to do is remove the PCB, something I wouldn't even concider doing unless it was absolutly necessary.. It also adds extra expense and for a lot of people just creates an extra part that is never going to be used. ..and in any case there are always going to be people who when they recieve Proteus will strip it to pieces and remove the PCB needlessly before they have even fitted an atomiser to it.. It is the nature of the beast you have created.. (and which we will all adore lol..)
