I wouldn't expect to see laser engraving on gg products again. First it's more expensive and second more time consuming. I like the old ones as well but the 2 aforementioned reasons I think trump any stylistic preferences we may have.

Its exactly the opposite Seek. CNC engraving is 8 times more expensive!!!
And they need much more time to be made. Laser needs 10 seconds to make the wings when cnc needs 4 minutes!!!

I never paid attention to the cost when I make a GG, I only base my constructions to the best result. :)

Oh no soul that would be like saying :"Your not good enough anymore more ..here take cnc because it dosent cost as much and is quicker"

Im after what is the best option and looks the best :p

Theres somethink about those laser gg wings which gives it extra class, also the GG on esterigon also topped that mod off a treat.i would of loved to seen the tube of esterigon with the laser wings on with it too, with it tightened on to the body which made it line up with the GG but im dreaming there.

lol as you can see im not a fan of cnc engraving infact it puts me off a bit.

its impossible for 2 engravings that are on different tubes to match buddy. It can be done but it needs another style of machining and pieces

Thank you so much Imeo. I'm looking forward to trying out the new wire that everyone has been talking about. Is VIR going to work with this wire?

The wire is titanium grade 1 SS. Vir will work with titanium grade 1 and SS 304. With SS 316 too as I see it but I never test it. And I am still trying to include esg titanium wire on VIR

I wasn't referring to the actual time but more like the entire process. I was under the impression that CNC engraving was done at the machine shop where you make the tubes, whereas laser has too be shipped out to someone else, hence taking much longer. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

As for the looks I do prefer the laser but I haven't seen the CNC up close so maybe I might change my mind.

Sorry but it has nothing to do with being cheap; it's the realities of manufacturing. Personally, I'm after what works best (which is naturally affected by how it looks)

Ah, I understand now about time Seek. Yes, laser needs more time because of the reason you said. But laser engraving was done on the tubes while the rest of the pieces of a GG construction were still on machines, so there was no wasted time. But now with cnc engraving we do spend more time for every tube. And we also have a delay on shining procedure because it has to be done with care to not ruin the engraving, something that we didnt care with laser that was done after the shining procedure.

The final result of this new procedure is bigger delay and more money for me but better result for you.

Very interesting, thanks for the details.

I prefer laser engravings rather than CNC, on everything!
I just hope that both types of engravings will usually be options so that we can choose which ones we would like to have. Just like the latest release of products that came with fine and thick versions of engravings. (Not necessarily for the Proteus now since they are already made, but for future inventions or remakes of old constructions, etc.)

When electronic part will be ready in about 1 week, I will start production 67. I hope that in less than 1 month I will send Proteus to my sellers
Does that mean that it might not be ready until after the new year? I know that the plan is to have them before Christmas, but anyone who has been on here for a while knows, production doesn't always go how we hope it will.
