I have a Vmax SS rv4 and I can say its my No. In my collection.. Don't have a proveri and I'm not going to..way to over priced ..get the Vmax or zmax ..or both for the price of 1 proveri ...

Try both and then decide if the Provari is overpriced.

With the Provari, you're paying for consistency, durability and quality - attributes that don't exist in the Vmax.

The difference between them is night and day, the Vmax is calibrated very badly - bad enough to burn standard resistance atty's at relatively lower voltages and is very prone to failures, whether it's the atty connection, board, button or ground.

Having to send back so many Vmax's and not knowing if they would fire when I pressed the button is a pain, I don't have any of these issues with the Provari.

New Meter for reading PWM Voltage. This is an update to how PWM Should be measured. This is showing what you are actually vaping at with PWM. First on the lava tube then on the vmax. When the vmax is set to 3v is actually 4.5v..
That's funny. We now need a trick meter to tell us the voltage is wrong? And "showing what you are actually vaping at with PWM" what point in time would that be? When the battery is fresh or when it's starting to discharge? Knowing the voltage is off is of no use to those who want to vape at 3.5V and stay there during the life of the charge.

It's quite humorous these $2 (and yes they are switching/PWM assemblies) can provide real, actual voltage and regulate that voltage properly.

Maybe Smok Tech needs to get a few and reverse engineer them. They might learn something. :)

I've been a pretty vocal opponent of the menu system they use, mostly to try and figure out if people actually deal well with it or not. But considering that they're nearly identical, that shouldn't matter.

I'm in the market (or will be shortly) for something in that price range, and while I don't own them, I've read/watched a lot of reviews and been in a lot of forum/reddit/youtube conversations.

I'm seriously considering the Provari. The Vmax/Zmax are not on my radar. And they won't be.

I don't like the way they do PWM. I don't want to fire my devices that high, even if it's only for small fractions of a second. It seems like a bad idea. And, frankly, based on all the scopes I've seen, my eGo Twist is more accurate (setting vs. actual voltage and how the output varies) and won't burn coils/wicks/filler for no reason.

And it'll do 12W with the right head.

And it has the same warranty (as far as viability of factory repair/replacement).

And it costs <$30 instead of just under $100.

If you can afford a Provari, there are other options you should consider. Personally, I don't think the Vmax/Zmax count.

I got a vmax and have been tickled pink with it. I do want a provari though. Just because a man has to have dreams. Honestly you can burn a coil in a hurry with the vmax if you don't pay attention. Stacked batteries don't worry me. Just pay attention. the vmax was my second apv the twist being the first. I promise when the plastic money gets paid down I'll have a provari and maybe a zmax and who knows what else. Just a big boy with expensive toys.
