wOOt - gooooooooooooo D-A-V-E!!!

any word on various headpieces (801 perhaps?)?

Whoot whoot. Yes this is one of the new menu items. You can select to do power up or power down to reduce the number of clicks to adjust.

We have also added a scrolling feature so if you hold down the button it will flip through the settings in the direction you want. So if you are at 5.5 and want to go down to 4.5, just hold the button and it will go down until you release it.

No word on any other versions than the 510 at this time.

Sweet! I remember asking if it had that feature awhile back. Nice to see you guys added that in.

Make that check out to...nah, I'll take a ProVari in exchange. :p

Does the atomizer connection look like it may strip? That's my only concern ???

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

No doesn't look Like it would strip at all.. The connection is nicely recessed.. Which is nice bc it keeps the over all length of the device shorter...
I have commented several times on the draw of the device to provape.. I complimented the smoothness and consistency of the draw on the device on whatever atty I have on...,

I only recieved my beta unit yesterday, so this will be my initial thoughts.

The pictures on the website do not do this justice at all. It is extremely better looking in person. I don't own a v3 but I just used one the other day, and it is very comparable in weight. It is about an inch shorter in length over my joker av. I will post a side by side picture later for reference on this (I have college in under an hour). I'll agree with others that the drip reservoir seems to be slightly deeper than the v3.

The lcd screen is more recessed into the mod than it appears in the pictures and the actual window for it looks to be sealed really well. It doesn't appear to have any risk of juice getting into it. The button, as others have said is not clickly. It is very smooth and easy to press.

The threading on the end cap was done really well. It screws on very easily.

All in all this is a very solid built pv. I will add more thoughts on this later in the day. Unfortunately I am out of time right now to post anything more. I just wanted to get something up here for it to be more of an initial review type thing.

Jimho, 2 questions:

How does it feel in the hand compared to the V3, weight and size. And...

Did you get to the Furthur show when they were in town?

A bit heavier than the V3.... with the 18490 IMR it's the same length- see the pics I put up....

I sure did Mr West .... Was at the Saturday show at the Garden- and the did play Wharf Rat ... sounds better off the board than it did in person.....
Honestly, I liked the shows at MCU (Coney Island) in June better ..download them if you can....especially the second set of the second night....

RE LR 510's - I'm running a 1.7 Ohm 510 from GreenhouseOne @ 3.6V ... To be honest, other than slightly different draw due to atty differences, I can't tell you the difference between that and a 2.4@ 4.6V or a 3.5@ 5.5V or a 2.0 at 4.2V or a 1.7@3.8V.....

If, as you say, there's no difference between the LR at 3.6v and a standard 510 @ 4.6v, seems using the LR 510's should give better battery life? Seems that would be the atty to go with, no?

I would think higher voltage would produce warmer vap, and in larger quantities..... not trying to start a fight or be arguementative... if there is no difference, I'll stick with the LR attys.

I think the opposite , and much prefer the reg Atty at 4.6 myself

NO, the LR will give a shorter life... it pulls more current from the battery, thus... shorter life

We all have our own vaping experiences and preferences. Personally, if we were to use watts as a scale to compare HV vs LR, I would take 8(ish) watts HV over 8(ish) watts LR every-time. Using HV, I find the vape more full, rich and satisfying. I also find the flavor more full and consistent. Using LR attys, I find they heat up very fast and can give juices that burnt taste faster (especially higher VG concentrations). Personally, while I realize most VV devices CAN do LR - I cannot see doing it for any other reason than using up attys.

I probably have 20 LR attys of various models sitting here collecting dust. Granted, I have never used a boosted device before so I can only compare stacked batt HV to single batt LR (well, I could try LR on my stacked batt VV devices - but have little desire to try it). I am willing to remain open-minded and see if my perceptions change as we move into boosted and other smart device features.

On another note, I could be wrong but it looks - so far - like all the thread posted pics are using the 18490/18500 batts without the 18650 extension sleeve. If any of you beta testers have the 18650 extension, would you be willing to take pics of the Provari in each of its 2 configurations - possibly next to the same other items for size comparisons? T.I.A.

Happy Friday all. :toast:
