Ok- confirmed with Dave- I'm allowed yap to about my beta unit ...

Please no PM's and no hate mail - I won't respond to either ... I'll try and answer what I can about my experience and what I am comfortable talking about ...

I am not being paid for any of this and for what its worth, other than my preorder (which I'm definitely keeping and plan on paying for), I never bought anything from Provape in the past....

Here's a short synopsis after about a week:

I've tested all of the advertised features except thermal overload and they work as advertised.I usually pick my attys to run a bit hot at the start and work through the battery's voltage range till I start getting juice in my mouth... Not with the ProVari... you set the voltage wherever you want and it stays there ... period.... if you want to change attys, a few presses of the button and to dial in your voltage and you're done... off by a bit, easy adjustment... I've tested at least 1/2 a dozen different attys 2 ohms up to 4.2 ohms... I'm sure I covered DSE (SLB), Joye, Beauway and Ikenvape... they all worked great, I had no issues setting voltage and the device delivered consistently from the start of the first draw on fresh batteries all the way to the end of the last draw after the LED flashed indicating it was time to replace my battery and even past that right till the device refuses to fire....Did I say it was consistent? It was an understatement.

Battery life is pretty good- remember these are 1100mAh 18500's- not 18650's- I'm getting through about 3ml per battery over about 3/4 of a day (about 9 hrs)... that might go higher after the batteries cycle through a few times....

I'm not ready to put up a full review but I can tell you I have found nothing about this device that I don't like... nothing!
If you have some questions, put them out there.... I'll try and answer ....

First, :drool::drool:

Second, thanks for posting this information as it is nice to get a first hands on initial impression by a potential customer. Thanks to ProVape too for saying it's ok to post your impressions.

Let's see I am trying so hard to think of some questions, hopefully this ain't too many... :)

When you screw on the atty, does it go all the way down or is there a space for airflow?

How was the leakage from the atty in terms of was it hard to clean out the reservoir and did you have to do it often?

So when the amp safety cutoff kicked in, is it just a matter of dialing the voltage down one level to get it to start working again?

So if an error occurs, and once you fix it by replacing the atty, battery, etc. are your voltage settings saved? I wasn't sure if it saves it for normal battery changes but if it resets because of an error?

How is the size of it, does it feel good in the hand, does it stick out and look odd, or can you compare it to another device? I know there are side by side pics of this and the ProVape but just wasn't sure if this feels like something ginormous that you wouldn't want to walk out in public with, etc.

How is the weight of it?

How were the threads, did they need to be worked in, were they already smooth?

How was the feel of the button, does it make a clicking noise?

I know you had limited experience with it but how would you rank\rate it based on your initial impressions for other devices you have or tried?

Sorry for all the questions, that's all I could think of that you didn't already comment on as well as what is already provided by the ProVape group.

Thanks

There's good draw - I'm happy with it- I think this is something they are tuning.

How was the leakage from the atty in terms of was it hard to clean out the reservoir and did you have to do it often?
EDIt: DIDn't get that right the first time.... well, leakage has nothing to do with the device, it's based on how you drip/flood your atty- I think you mean overflow... that said, the reservoir is bigger than the V3- looks like it holds at least 1/4 ml and is easy to wipe out with the corner of a paper towel... I got sloppy one night after too much turkey and did have a little run over the edge... but the reservoir holds alot of juice....

So when the amp safety cutoff kicked in, is it just a matter of dialing the voltage down one level to get it to start working again?
it's a matter of removing the condition that caused the fault.. that would be one way
So if an error occurs, and once you fix it by replacing the atty, battery, etc. are your voltage settings saved? I wasn't sure if it saves it for normal battery changes but if it resets because of an error?
yes- but it doesn't matter- its so easy to set, the voltage yet almost impossible to change it unless you want it to.... they got this UI really clean.

How is the size of it, does it feel good in the hand, does it stick out and look odd, or can you compare it to another device? I know there are side

a couple of mm bigger than a V3 ... I think Dave can give you the exact specs- roughly, just under 4 1/4 inches...

How is the weight of it?
it's definitely stainless... similar to a roll of quarters- not any worse than other 18650 sized devices....

How were the threads, did they need to be worked in, were they already smooth?
Smooth and percise- no binding.

How was the feel of the button, does it make a clicking noise?
smooth- sticks out enough to find but not too much to snag too easily. Doesn't click. LED can be disabled otherwise only lights up when pressed and device is on... In person looks like a glass button not plastic.

I know you had limited experience with it but how would you rank\rate it based on your initial impressions for other devices you have or tried?

Tough question- there's room for more than one device in my stash.
"
Let's say there's a class of devices - "tube devices desinged to be all day vapers"
On vapor production and consistency- the best yet...
Against other tube devices- best yet
For simplicity, ease of use, form and function- best yet...

No prob- I just want to tell you that they got this device right. It is what they said it would be, does what they said it would do and delivers a great consistent vape. Everyone who has one on pre order should be real excited about getting it.

I hope they can get the production run out to you as planned and I can tell you that from a quality perspective, so far, if they told me the beta was the production device I'd have been happy paying full price for it.... it's all here.

jimho, thanks so much for taking the time to provide these answers and your feedback, if you can't tell I am a little too anxious and can't wait.

Good to hear it delivers what they advertise as that is all I ask from anything, not just a mod and it seems now days some successful vendors start lacking on the customer service part and ProVape has been so quick to provide all the answers to any questions as well as additional helpful information.

Well since the cat is out I'll have to say the pics DO NOT the device any justice at all .... The PRoVari's stainless steel construction is built with absoulute perfection!! Some one had mentioned "bottle cap looking" end caps I'd have to say the end cap compliment the tube perfectly!! Jimho has covered pretty much everything about the unit He beat me to it lol! I have no complaints about this device and it is everything PLUS what I was expecting !!

Also I have used a variety of cartos and attys....
My preference are LR 306 attys and 3.0 ohm e2 cartomizers...
It just so nice to dial in voltage to EXACTLY where it needs to be so easily... Switch between attys and push the button a couple times and your ready to roll!! Very user friendly...
Has jimho mentioned that they are consistent?? Cz they are lol... I will try to answer as many questions as possible as well but please no pm's either ...

Edit- also I'd like to comment on battery usage as well I have found that switching Btween a LR 306atty(1.5ohms) and a 3.0ohm e2 cartomizer I have gotten almost 20 hours of use consuming approx 4 ml juice!! I know that will vary for those of you who vape more than myself but I feel that is fantastic battery life!!

Great to hear since there has been some criticism of what it looks like, there's nothing wrong with bottle caps if done right.

Since the cat IS out, how 'bout some photos???

I'm sure I'm not alone in wanting to see some photos of the ProVari, out in the wild!!!

Also, I plan to drip with my ProVari. I currently only have LR 510's, used with my bottom feed mod. Should I pick up some standard, IKV 2.5Ω 510 Atomizers from IKenVape, or does anyone have another suggestion for the best atty to use with this device, while dripping?

Thanks

The betas can regulate down to 3.3V. I have not tested below 2.0 ohms yet but I'll tell you what- I'll put a 1.5 on for the rest of the day. I sincerly doubt it's going to make any discernable difference in terms of vapor production - I'll just drop down to 3.6V and keep doing my thing... I'm going to also tell you that I'm pretty hard on attys- I buy them as cheap as I can in bulk and normally curse at 1.5's and 1.7's as I fry them up pretty fast. Will let you know how it goes this evening but I haven't lost an atty yet and I'm on my 7th day with it...

@jesse-
Doesn't even look like bottlecaps in person- it's really a nice classy detail. I'll try to get some pics up next to my V3 which may give you a better idea....

BTW: I'm running a vapemate- I don't use anything with filler, and for the last 3 months I pretty much only used bottom feed.... I used the whole setup walking through Grand Central Station yestereday - nobody seemed to notice.
