ProVari Variable Voltage Mod

I've spent a bit of time trying to use a VapeMate top feeder with the ProVari resulting in poor results.

Either no or too little juice reaching the atty and more often TOO MUCH juice into the atty that quickly fills the catch cup. Of course the juice overflows @#$^$%!@#*&)( leaving a sticky mess to deal with.

If the atty connector air holes were recessed further into the cup one could then pull the excess juice back into the atty with consecutive vapes. This is the action that we see with the ALI'i PV

Since that will probably not happen - My other idea would be some form of metal or plastic tube that fits inside of the cup opening that allows excess juice to rise above the cup opening height and better access to the air slots to regain entry into the atty.

Anyone having similar issues and or solution?

-Earlier today I was showing off my PV=ProVari to a friend while setup for 3.5V. He attached his LR306 vaped a couple of time and decided to move down to 3.3V -

Something strange then happened.

The display changed to osillating 8. 8. indicators in the MSB and LSB positions turned on the power to the atty and stayed on!

As smoke started to roll out of the Cannon tip I unscrewed the atty while the display continued to alternate 8. 8.

No amount of button pressed chaged the display. I then removed battery and unpon replacement the PV worked normally.

Can anyone identify this mode and or behavior?

TIA

Hi Ren. There is a calibration mode that we use during setup and your buddy accidentally got into this mode. All is ok :)

Ok so I have been around around. Frustrated with both voltage drop offs and too much power from freshly charged batts. Searching the web, I come across a comparison site on mods and my eyes got big at the thought of a mod like the ProVari. Keep in mind that I just got on the notification list for a high-end mod that has been around a while. Feeling a bit burned by the promises of previous mods that shall remain nameless.

Keep posting guys, kinda on the fence but if this PV lives up to the hype, I may just jump in.

Honestly, when I saw it on the other site, I thought it was a hoax came here to see if there was any buzz.

i dont see a larger well; as the provari has a beautiful well; quite substantial.

i have a VM too and havent even put it on the Provari yet... i am enjoying fantastic consistent vapes with any atty and no fear of any issues.
The VM and bottom feeders like the Ali'i have over feed issues imo..

it's not a Provari issue.

I use a bottle/needle set-up to drip with and it saves me from all the messy issues that i used to have with dripping; except when i want to drive and drip....

For that i use an"other" bottom feeder, which is a juice miser.

the buzz is, to answer your question, this PV lives up to the expectations; big time!

Ironically i haven't seen a lot of buzz on the ProVari...

like my other favorite PV...

funny that way.

Certainly agree Not the fault of the ProVari...

Very solid PV - Just looking for a great potential J feed or small mod to make better use of the VapeMate with the Vari.

Thanks for the input Ukeman.

Now i need a reaql nice case for this. Anybody have any ideas for a real nice case. I dont want a cheapie case made of plastic. The Provari deserves to be in leather

I keep my PV in a shellz case, available at many smoke shops... The model I like is the large with zipper pocket, and it's available in a variety of finishes. It's not a lot of money, and the protection cannot be beat.

nice "protection" being a key word here... best insurance imo is to stash a second...hmmm

Thats a nice case but im kinda looking for something that i can clip on my belt or something. As far as the VapeMate when i first got it i couldnt get it to work right and i was getting frustrated. Then David sent out the 5 ml bottles that fit perfectly on the VapeMate. I just added a silicone tube that went to thye bottom of the bottle and hooked into the top. that changed it from being messy and no juice to a tap on the bottle and 2 drops right on my 306 atty.I used it on a plastic box mod and it was working flawlessly every time. It was great but the only thing was i didnt care for how it looked. So i ncleaned it good and put it back into the velvet pouch and will most likel;y sell it on the classifieds. for now i am using the clear tube E2 Mods that hold almost 2 ml and they work pretty good. you fill the tube and dont do anything but vape. Now that i like and i dont have to worry about anything that doesnt look good. The VapeMate is a fine product but just wasnt what i liked as far as looks. it was made very nice and David put a lot of thought into it. To make it work even better on my 306 atty i modded a piece of tube from an old cartomizer and the 306 now looked like a 510, therefore i could use a 510 drip tip on it. I used the old tube like a sleeve to put over the 306 atty and used a piece of the cartridge tip to put on over the 306 tube to make the sleeve fit nice and tight. Now by doing this i now had an adapter to use my 306 atty on the VapeMate. I also cut the tube to make the
VapeMate drop 2 drops right on top of the wick without missing it.
With the purchase of the Provari i find i no longer will use my other mods including bottom feeders so i will list them also on the classifieds. i will keep 1 for a spare plus my cheap plastic box mod that is a variable volt.
Once you use the Provari how the heck can i go back to using anything else. I am so hooked now. lol

Does it bother anyone else that the 18650 extension cap doesn't match the PV .... or am I just nuts.

i noticed that as well...it kinda erked me alittle at first but i think its something that you will eventually get used to..who knows, maybe they did it because if it matched perfectly with the PV maybe somebody wouldn't know where to unscrew the cap at?? :D

Edit: after watching a video on the provari (was in really nice HD quality) the extender cap(at least from what i could see) DID match up perfectly with the provari and it looked really nice...provape really needs to get some better pictures of their provari because its not doing this work of art any justice
