Odd, mine come off my WF-188 at 4.2 pretty consistently. Am I wrong in my understanding that undercharing can be just as bad as overcharging? Also, how quickly does yours drop to 4.0 in your PV? igetcha stated it was seconds on his from fresh to 4.0.
Yes you are wrong. Consistently charging to 4.1V should prolong the longevity (allow for more charge cycles over the long haul).

And I would expect that the simple act of turning the ProVari on to check the voltage, will in fact drop the voltage from the raw reading of only the battery with a meter. The unit needs power to operate and there will be additional resistance introduced by the device itself.

Was your battery fully charged? It shouldn't be reading 4.0 off a fresh charge. More like 4.2 (ideal) or possibly 4.1/4.3 (although 4.3 or higher is indicative of a charger problem). Have you tried using a different, fresh battery? What voltage setting are you trying to use?
Again how do you know? And which meter is the accurate one? The cheap multi's that most use or the ProVari's?

I just checked a cell with two different meters.

- 4.14
- 4.16

Those numbers are basically identical for our uses. But the ProVari will round them off. It could be seeing either 4.1 and 4.2 and still be right. And depending on the exact reading, with the rounding off, Scotts drop could be as small as 0.06V.

Whatever problems Scott is having aren't going to be diagnosed with battery readings.

Thanks for the info. I was just grasping at straws to try and help the guy if I could. And you're right, I don't know which is more accurate.

Hey igetcha! You may have already mentioned this but how many 18500 batteries have you tried with the Provari? I mean, if you've only tried using 1 or 2 then it may just be a bad battery or two. If you have other 18500's or 18650's with the ext cap try every bat you can to see if the problem remains.

hi mate,

ive got two of the recommended 18500's and both do the same thing. ive got a pile of other 18500's but none fit as i didnt bother getting the extension...........didnt think i would need it, lol

cheers

scott

fingers crossed it has a speedy delivery :D

Good to hear Scott. I wished they'd expedite it for you. Can't wait to see your review and your crazy smoke ring skills at full display with the provari.

Happy New Year everyone.

Since we are waiting on parts, took a few days off to get some rest. Sorry If I missed any questions, bump them if you didn't get a answer.

Some of our suppliers are on short schedules this week from the holidays. Well get a update next week and plan to ship another batch here in the next week or two. I'll keep you updated as we get news.

Have fun and be safe tonight!

this is probably a silly question but...on average how many would you say you usually get out with each batch?

GREAT video, i think i had like a solid 10 minutes of being able to drool over the provari haha and it was great getting to see it at all the different volt levels. EXACTLY what i was lookin for, ty hifistud :D

Don't tell Imeo, but it's just about all I've used since it came - and I've got around fifteen other atty/carto combinations to test before it gets a whole hour-long show to itself. I'm discovering sweet spots on various atty/cartos that I never knew existed, and it's just so simple to set it where you want it. I am very favourably impressed. Got to get a UK supplier for it!
