If anyone is thinking about getting a Provari, or another Provari....

I just recieved my third SS unit; i sold one of my two first-run Vari's, which have had no issues at all btw, and just want to say how impressed I am with the new unit.
imo it has a couple of small refinements, and on top of all the great features; from solid solid build, great machining, superb electronics, to perfect hand feel and button...etc etc.
1. slightly smaller LED text; easier to read because it leaves a little border room.
2. slightly cleaner button to chip/ LED readout feel... the earlier ones I had to be a little more careful about button presses... skipping or missing, racing through a button press could mess you up and you start over... no biggee because you just have to be focused (duh), but this new one feels crisp and right on.

so to all those wanting a new Provari... man, go for it.

Pulling the trigger tomorrow night! I can't wait! Don't suppose you might have an answer for this question...

no, but fwiw, your post there is what prompted me to post this and say... Yeah!!!
Congrats!
I actually bought this one because I had to send my one unit in to have the LED window replaced... the older ones had a softer plastic window and i pushed mine in... it still worked, but hey I wasn't going to be without a Provari! for any length of time.

LOL Well if no one know, I guess I have about a 3 week wait for the Chrome Provari, so I can find something I already have that is chrome plated and test the material to see if it causes surface scratches... Oh and thanks for the Congrats! I had to sell my first one, and I been dying to get a new one since then...

I'm getting one E8 now all the time... check your fresh batts on the Vari... i'm showing 3.3 on a 4.17v fresh charged batt...dang... this was a good one too...just got it new last week... really loving it because the LED digits are smaller and the window is harder than the first runs....new spring was really bringing the batt use time up blinking at 3.2, 3.1v....
I emailed Dave and expect to have to send it back... I have one in for repair (replacing the LED window)... and hope i get it back really soon... will be first time without a Vari in about 9 months....

I just got an E8 code on my Provari, what does this mean ? haven't ever gotten this error code before, Jimho ? someone ?

I'd guess it's the carto... i mean that may be the weak link in a tank after all, cartos and attys are disposables in the general equation; they change resistance over time... depends on the juice ingredients and the voltages used too.
Hi I have had my provari now for 2 weeks and love it A++++ wish I bought it first. Using a liquinator on with boge regular resistance carto. But some cartos are jumping in ohms after say day use like its says 3.1 in the beginning then next day reads between 3.8 and 4.1 is this a provari issue or the cartos?

Ok yea proubly have gone through like 6 mls of juice in this one voltage is 4.7 to 5 volts.

I'm not a tank or carto user... i just know that for SR 4.7 to 5 is a bit higher than conventional. depends on juice type and makeup... juice on connector is ok if you keep it clean periodically.
Oh and some juice builds up on the battery connection but I allways wipe it out is that ok? Just want to make sure its not hurting anything. Thanks
there are some threads about Provari and tank mods... they can probably help you there.

Nah, just wipe it off occasionally. 5V is OK with 3.0 ohm Boge cartos. You probably just got a couple of bad ones, that's all...
