Why does it matter what other ppl own or prefer? We all like what we have, otherwise we wouldn't wanna get it in the first place. Chill ppl, all PVs have proven to have at least one thing in common, they serve the same purpose - provide us with a good vaping experience. Some like it light, others like to get OD-ed once in awhile. Its all cool. vape safe, vape happy and vape on.

Quick question. Regardless of the price, which would u choose? The Ford Focus or a Mercedes-Benz
The answer appears to be straight forward – who wouldn’t want a better one if money is taken out of the equation, right? – but it is not. It really depends on what you are into and what you want out of it. I remember one X’mas years ago, my wife gave me a very nice, $300 electric shaver. My reaction was, “hmmm, I really don’t need something like this.” It was very nice for sure but I simply don’t care about shavers. I spend about 15, 20 seconds each morning shaving. If I want a cleaner shave, I’ll go with the manual blade which I actually enjoy doing. We could afford the nice shaver but I just didn’t want it. I took it back and exchanged it for a $40 one which I am still using to this day and am very happy with it.

It’s the same with vaping. Different persons are into different experiences and desire different result out of it. For example, there are vapers who start with cig-alike and never “upgrade” at all. If it is working for them and they don’t have the desire to change, who are we to tell them, “hey buddy, don’t you want better equipment? You know you are missing out on some great vapes, right?” Well, not every vaper chases after the ultimate vape. Some just to want to vape b/c they don’t want to smoke, that’s all. I can totally imagine some of these vapers may say no to switching to a Provari even if one is given to them free, why, it's too big and they would rather stick with the cig-alike which they are happy with. I can totally understand that.

Does it make sense to you?

Of course it does. Funny how the shaver thing happened to me too except it was my mom who gave it to me and yes, I prefer manual blades to electrical shavers. :toast:

I probably will get flamed by saying this but, no offense to anyone, comparing a $30 (on FastTech) - $60 (most U.S. retail) Vamo to a almost $200 Provari is like comparing a Ford Focus to a Mercedes-Benz.

I just think that to say that a Porvari is "better" than a Vamo is pointless and borderline snobbish. They are different beasts that serve different vapers who have very different expectations and derive their vaping pleasure on many different levels and in many different ways. I think the Vamo is a great entry level device to anyone just want to get their feet wet in APV. Unless money is of no concern to a particular person, spending close to $200 on a device as your first ever APV is very risky to most people and it is not a good advice in my opinion.

I see this kind of comparison for just about every product and frankly it's rather annoying. I am into photography and I always see in forums that people say things like don't buy the xyz point-and-shoot, buy the $3000 abc DSLR instead and here are the 10 great reasons why you want a $3000 abc DSLR, blah, blah, blah. How many of you in this forum will spend $3000 USD on a camera even after reading the 10 great reasons? How many of you think that you are somehow missing out on some great photographic moments and enjoyments because you only have a $200 camera? How many of you feel that you are somewhat inferior because you only have a point-and-shoot instead of a DSLR? BTW, a Hasselblad DSLR system can set you back $20,000. Yes, that's right, it's not a typo, there are four 0's after the 2 and it's in US dollars.

Just saying.

I spent more on stuff I ended up giving away that didn't work out for me than I did on the three Provari and set up that I have paid for. Sometimes going cheap is the expensive route. Look how many people change what they are using over and over again. I wish people would have pushed me to the Provari, I would have saved money.

Size does not seem to be the issue in this poll. The Vamo is not small either.

I suspect the OP made this post because there are others out there saying the Provari is not as good because it is V/V. I have seen some say the only thing Provari has going for it is build quality. It is more than that.

I'm using a Vamo and have tried a ProVari, i've got to say ProVari is indeed a great product.. one of the best out there.
But as the saying goes "一分钱一分货" in English it simply means you pay for what you get. Spending more will more often then not, get you a quality product.

Having said that; I feel that i'm getting more value over money, for the amount i paid for my Vamo v2 and it is all worth it.
Reason to back me up, i switched from analogs because of the insane tax here in +65, so i'm hesitant to spend when i pick up vaping.

The Oppressive Little Dot
Before you guys bash the vamo to death, let me be clear on one point, the Vamo (Version 2 and below) has 2 modes: RMS & AVG.

I believe the article you posted about the Vamo over and under firing is based on its AVG mode, which is not accurate as that mode can also average down to 0 volts. Whereas the RMS mode will result in a positive value. The best part is that a lot of users did not know that the RMS mode existed, as such, they too started complaining about something which could be fixed by simply changing the firing mode

As for quality issues, the Vamo (V2 and below) suffers a lot in this aspect. I've read numerous complaint on the Vamo and frankly speaking, I was kinda disappointed.
However the issues that were afflicting the Vamo V2 are now fixed in the Vamo V3. It has a better screen, removable top ring plus the AVG mode has been remove to avoid confusion.

Alvinado, I know you can get quite technical here but just to be fair, your research is not complete as from the beginning, your mindset is already biased against the Vamo. I respect the fact that you are a fanboy, but this is a forum where people share their experiences, NOT to scare other users from trying out other products such as the Vamo or other VV/VW APVs.

Your elitist attitude in this thread leaves much to be desired, I understand you want to encourage others to use the Provari, but at least give some respect to other users who are using other mods or just wanting to try other mods. Try out the new V3 and if it still does perform as badly as the V2 like you said, then I'll rest my case.

Happy vaping, Y'all!
