I paid 35.00 for my Vamo shipped and it has worked flawlessly for three months. If it died tomorrow or I lost it I have already got my moneys worth. It is a very solid PV and works great. I also like VW better than VV so why would I want to pay 160-200 dollars for a Provari. The main thing is they are both just a regulated battery and what is attached to it is more important to your vaping experience than the battery source.:)

I got my Vamo from same co op as Tumbleweed and I have no excuse to buy another regulated mod until this one dies. I've almost done it a half dozen times too, including Provari but I like VW all the way. I've got a vv ego and can compare some. I know it's not the same but vw just works and I was always fiddling with the vv settings. Anyway. If Provari comes out with vw on a second round I'll very seriously consider getting it if my Vamo hasn't died yet. It's kind of fun holding out for the next new and "best" thing. I wrap my Vamo too without feeling like I'm hiding anything super nice because it is plain. Chrome too. She's going to help me play catch up to break even sooner since I bought a couple expensive mechanicals and two different kicks. It's the same thing. Mechanical with kick....VW. Well see which holds up longest I guess. Mechanicals with kick or Vamo

VW is a gimmick. I played with it for a while on my vamo, but went right back to VV. You can't really set it and forget it. Try going from a 2 ohm to a 2.4 ohm dual coil and you'll know what I mean. The dual coils need a bit more juice to really make them sing.....

This is the biggest bunch of nonsense I have read in a while on here. There are thousands of users of VW model PV's who greatly prefer the ease of use and consistency of VW. One guy saying it is a gimmick is laughable. It's much more likely that VW model PV's will become much more common and surpass VV models.

That being said, that has nothing to do with which one the OP should get. There are advantages to both. The Provari build quality is excellent. But you could have 4 Vamo's for the price of one Provari along with the advantages of VW and the fact that the Vamo comes with a 5 amp switch. Either one would be a good choice.

I don't know why yall are getting so upset about VV/VW. Everyone has their own preferences, and no matter what you tell most people it's really not going to change their opinion on the subject. If their was one perfect mod, then people would only ever use that long term. The wonderful thing about vaping, and what got me interested in the first place, the shear number of options! So enjoy what ever you choose to use :)

Well my order is officially placed! Really hoping its here by Friday or Saturday. Went kinda crazy today ordering lol. Ended up getting the pink provari with the blue display, with two 18650 batts, x cap, 2 DCT tanks (3.5 & 6ml), Slap Yo' Mama Tool, 8 different 30 ml juices to try, carto punch, 10 boge single coil cartos, 2 different colored pyrex tanks from IBTanked, and like 4 different colored drip tips..... LOL. I hope everything comes soon! I am so excited and happy with my decision!

Why such a short shopping list? ;)

That's what I was thinking!

BTW, kiki, you made the right decision. I have an eVic, 3 Vamos, a Bolt, and a ProVari mini. Love my ProVari. Purchased it from Provape after getting all the others. I now have a regular ProVari in the mail headed this way (from classifieds). I still use the others, but the ProVari is my main PV. Wish I'd gone with the ProVari from the git go.

For the Spyderco guy, hate that you lost your Spyderco. Great knives.

Didn't read through the complete thread, so forgive me if I'm late. But i'll throw in my 2 cents.

I traded my provari, had that thing for almost 2 years! It is a tank! worked ever time I put something on it. Actually had a batt almost blow up in it! Spring collapsed, I put a new spring on and it never failed! Anyways... traded my provari, so I was then left with no vv device! So I decided to buy a vamo from local store. Although I like the vamo but it just cant compare to the provari! The fit and finish just aren't up to par with the provari! I love the fact that I can use 350 or 650 batts! The fact that it does vw doesn't matter, I have it set to vv because that is what I know. The vamo buttons rattle a bit, and i'm not crazy about the chrome finish.

So in the end the vamo works, and works well! Does what it's supposed to! But if you like quality the provari wins hands down! If money is a factor the vamo will do just fine!

I own both now. I've had the Provari for a year but wanted a backup, not that I've had any problems with the Provari but just in case, and also wanted to play with a variable watt device. I like the convenience of some of the controls on the VAMO compared to the Provari such as not having to push a button 13 times to check my ohms or 11 times to check my battery. However, if I could only have one it would be the Provari. It's solidly built and a solid performer, after a year I have had zero problems with it.

If you can afford one, get the Provari. VV/VW aside, it's a far more durable device, as can easily be discerned from the lack of "issue" threads concerning the Provari vs. the Vamo. And it can be fixed in the United States (if you live here) for cheap. I don't think anyone's fixing the Vamo if it fails.

Get a cheap mech mod as a backup, and you're golden. I've been vaping the same V1 Provari for over two years without a single issue. I'm not easy on my vaping stuff, and it looks like the day I received it.

I own both and they both have their pros and cons. The ProVari is extremely well built, a great size and works flawlessly, but you can't screw down a lot of the tanks properly due to no air flow and the menu system isn't ideal. The vamo has a great menu system, variable wattage and the stainless steel version is fairly solid (not ProVari solid, just solid), but is exceedingly long in 18650 mode. I only use the vamo in 18350 mode and this is about the same size as an 18490 ProVari. They are both very good devices and I'm glad I own both, I don't use one more than the other, they both get a lot of use.

Once upon a time, not too long ago - the only device you should buy was the Screwdriver. Torch mod, tube mod, whatever....

There will always be a luxury mod and then there will be what most vapers do.

Vape.

If it works for you then it doesn't matter how much it costs.

And those who are comparing variable wattage against variable voltage?

I always go for vv simply because it seems to be more subtle in use.

If you want to keep swapping different top devices with different ohms then ymmv.

Just my tuppence.

:)

i love my vamo. haven't owned a provari yet. maybe one day it'll come. maybe soon. maybe not.

it's a nice gadget. my friend that got me into electronic cigarettes had me get some kgo VV batteries to start. i got a vamo within a month. he swears by his provari and i'm sure i'll end up with one at some point in the not to distant future.

i'd always say if there is a debate between two products, you should settle the debate yourself. don't ask others for their own opinions.

I have a ProVari and I have thought about getting a Vamo as a back up. I will say this, I have put my ProVari through hell and it still works. I drop it on hard concrete at least twice a week. I've had it 6 months and I have not had a single issue with it. If you the money and you are thinking about getting a ProVari, get one. I've had some cheaper mods and they all either broke since I'm hard on my stuff (Ego Twist) or just plain out didn't work (Totally Wicked Odyssey, never even consider buying this mod, it is awful. I was a n00b). Love my ProVari and have never looked back. However I need a back up because I'm afraid I will break my ProVari some day and I will be vapeless since it is literally my only working mod.
