Well, a couple suggestions-

1. You are going to read the same topic over and over here- it's the nature of the forum. Since we try to help new members and don't tell people 'google is your friend' or do a search- either get used to it, or don't read threads that don't interest you. And for goodness sake, don't comment if that's the case. Someone else will.

2. Read the persons post before answering.

3. Remember what it was like when you started vaping. Post information they can understand. Links are helpful. Initials/abbreviations aren't. They don't know what your talking about.

4. Lets keep helping people do what many of us were able to do for the first time in our smoking lives- quit smoking!

5. Keep the jokes and graphics for other sections.

It's like failing to swoon over Ahlusion juices, or making jokes about MBV: bad news.
I've seen criticisms of and complaints about MBV that went unanswered. I don't think it enjoys protected status. :)

I like the MBV juice I've tried. If other people don't, that's OK with me.

Variable wattage is needed just to keep up with the APV market.
I don't think so. I have VW. I like VW. But you can get to the same place with VV. It's not really lacking anything.

And I do believe, I could be wrong, the ultimate goal is to get off and stay off analogs. However someone gets there whether its using a Cig a like, ego, ProVari, REO or a toilet paper roll..who cares????
I might care if someone was vaping a toilet paper roll. I'd be concerned about safety. ;)

Is that a Shiva pendant? [/weird tangent]

Provaris are the only valid option as everything else sucks, and those who claim anything else are simply ignorant.
FWIW, I don't get this from the Provari owners. I've never been pressured to buy one; it's never been suggested to me that I am ignorant/stupid/deficient because I've not chosen to get one. A number of Provari owners have approved and even encouraged my other choices, and I've seen them recommend other mods to other people as well. :)

To directly answer your question:

Provari...why do people get uptight?

As a non-Provari owner (although I'll probably end up getting one some day) I'll just make a generic statement.

One person talks about how good (or great) one particular item is that they spent "X" dollars on. The next person calls them silly for spending "X" dollars on it because they could have bought another item for less money.

And then the argument starts.

I think on the Internet this is called the "Stop liking what I don't like" phenomenon. Pretty much the same as the "why the heck would anyone spend $170 on an RBA when mine does the same thing for $19.99" argument.

The same argument happens on every forum I'm on and have been on over the years. "Oh, you're just dumb for buying a Ford/Glock/Sony/Snapon/Kitchen Aid/Whirlpool.

IMO, buy what you want. At the end of the day, the only person you have to please is yourself.

First, not taking any sides here. I'm sure a Provari is a superb, high quality device. However, I've also noticed similarities to Apple-loyalist discourse; Apple products/Provaris are the only valid option as everything else sucks, and those who claim anything else are simply ignorant.

Except that if we were talking about a truly Apple-esque product, Provaris would require juice-delivery devices with a proprietary connection, filled only with proprietary juices, which would be heated using power from proprietary batteries, which would require a proprietary charger. ;)

It does happen though, and is the reason for a common rant, it seems ;-)

Just this week I saw a suggestion that a newcomer get a Reo. Unfortunately I lacked the energy at the time to reply as I was in burnout mode and that pushed me over the edge. If the suggestion had been to get a Provari then it would have been less ridiculous, but still not what the OP was asking for.

In most circumstances, I would consider that ridiculous, I agree. (I can also imagine circumstances in which it might not be.) But this doesn't appear to be the norm. Most of the Provari owners I've seen making recommendations to newcomers, folks such as Baditude and the Ocelot, make very reasonable and appropriate recommendations according to the circumstances and interests of the newcomer.

Let me ask this, if Provape started making mech mods would they charge customers up for it because it is made by them and they now have a good reputation ?. Or Provape don't make mech mods because they know no one would pay the price they would want !. How could Provape make a mech mod that would be worth as much as a Provari ?.

Are you referring to this mech mod made by ProVape, which sells for only $89? Love it!

"If thou dost feel compelled to inquire if thou shouldst make thine offering unto Provape and accept the most Divine Scepter of the Provarinati, then thou shouldst hold fast thine offering; for thine mortgage and utility bills are numerous and costly.

Verily, only when thou hast gained true enlightenment will thee know for thine self why thine offering is worthy, and thou need ask nothing; the Divine Scepter bringeth forth not illumination; illumination bringeth forth She."

Yeesh, why do we keep getting these threads? It's all right there in the Book of the Provarinati. Chapter one, even. RTFM, people!

Sorry, my Latin to King James translation is a little rough around the edges these days.
