There are several kinds of brasses so it's hard to tell what kind is used in manufactured parts.

You are spot on, in this case I think I was saved, but only by a technicality. Bronze is principally copper and tin, Brass is principally copper and zinc. I suspect the alloy used for the positive terminals has both tin and aluminum in them, as my previous post notes.

True, I only guess that from what I read on that cool site. I have no expert knowledge on this...

I even got the basic components of brass and bronze backwards!

You can brew with minimal knowledge of that kind of stuff, but there are a few of us who really geek out on it. It's one of those hobbies that you can take as far as you want. Mix some sugar & water, throw in some yeast, you got beer. Want to study microbiology? Want to learn some chemistry? Want to be a welder? Woodworker? Bore your friends with a discussion on the role lactobacillius & pediococus plays in an aerobic vs anaerobic environment? We got those too.

Lol, Yeah I would totally geek out on it, I see it as part of the fun!

aerobic vs anaerobic... is that for bacteria? I know about it in a water waste environment.

This may be crazy talk but none the less it's something I have noticed, and also why I'm so glade there is a place like this to discuss what some may see as off topic discussions.

As we all know ProVari provides better flavor and vapor (Most of the time) Now before I get roasted let me finish. and continue with the point I was making.

I am so glade these threads exist because... Not all toppers act the same or taste the same on other devices, I have some dripping attys that just taste awful on my provari, But are fine on my twists... and alot of this comes back to juice, while the ProVari brightens up almost every juice flavor, sometimes it also brightens up nasty undertones in the juice that I would never notice on a different device.

So, my point is this... Without a ProVari discussion corner for things that might seem off topic to others, I would be left to talk to people that are using other devices and giving me their honest opinions of toppers and juice flavors that in light would just taste awful on my ProVari.

So I would like to thank ECF and the moderators for giving us this gift!!!

This may have been said before but it doesn't matter to me because this is my personal Thank you to them!!!

Edit: Decided to make a thread for this TY :)

(Posting without reading to the end) I've brought up this point before. You would be flamed immediately.

Hey Techno, I asked this before but never saw an answer.

Do you ever use vertical micro coils with any of your RBAs like the ones in the video by RiP Trippers?

Must have overlooked that Edd.. Sorry. I watched the vid when it came out, but have not tried it yet. Actually, I'm not into cotton at all. I usually make "micro-style" coils with an inner diameter just large enough for my preferred XC-116 ceramic wick to fit through. About the only other wicking material I like after trying about everything else is 3mm German silica.

Actually the Statue was intended to turn green. Otherwise it would've never been made out of copper - she'd have to be cleaned around the clock, nonstop to prevent it completely. She turned green pretty quickly. The verdigris (the green patina) develops at different rates depending on a lot of different things. In the brewing world it can happen over the course of a few months if unattended, but it rarely is since the verdigris is extremely toxic.

So if I licked the Statue of Liberty I could die?

I don't think you'd get an even patina on a copper Provari unless you never touched the thing.

Yeah, but that would be half the fun, just watching to see... win win, if it turns awesome and if not it's still pure copper and sexy as hell polished

Keep in mind, this is a guy jonesing to watch fish.

Even then drinking plain water out of a green cup wouldn't be all that risky (but I sure wouldn't advise it). Drinking a very weak beer (1-2% ABV) will likely make you very, very ill. It could possibly kill you.

ETA: I may not be able to follow what you're talking about, but I knew it was salt that turned her green. OOO! OOO! Mr. Kotter! Mr. Kotter!

Ocey, y u no use multi-quote thingamabob button?

My attention span isn't that long. I have to reply as I see the posts. And if I hit multi-quote and save it until the end I would forget what I was going to say.

ETA: I will try to remember to do it in the future. Don't hold your breath.
