Safari is wacky on me. I've had to resort to Tapatalk on my iPad.....after uninstalling and reinstalling the app. So far so good after the re installation.
I may have to try it to. But I just re quoted twice and it hasn't happened. This one is going to let me know if three's a charm.

Safari isn't working for me with the change either. I switched over to Firefox for ECF and so far so good. With Safari--it would work for a few minutes--and then suddenly go back to the 'down' message, and would not take my new password.
Firefox for me as well. It does go to the first post of the thread, but then quickly goes to the last page without prompting. Kinda odd, but gets me where I'm going.
My Firefox does that as well, but it stays at the top of the last page rather than going to the first unviewed message.
Oh sure, blame being batty on ECF.
I'm still getting the trip to the first page on threads too. Running Chrome here on a PC.

You may all be too impatient.
I'm on Chrome - and when I get an email "new post" message and click the link, I go the the first page in the thread - FOR TWO SECONDS - then it jumps to the last page with the new post. It's a lag, but it gets there... Maybe that's happening for you, too - but you're clicking before the jump?

The Hobbit is back. They had us change our friggin passwords and I have been AFK for a bit. Now that Tapatalk works, and I don't have to resort to my ECF app for Android, life is good. Not that I don't mind the Desktop Version or anything lol.

To be fair, this was preceded by quite a thunderstorm. Shook the windows a couple times...
But still - it's a hassle.
Looks like my new battery-powered wifi gizmo is super-efficient, though! Ran it for several hours last time, and it still said "fully charged" when I plugged it in the next day. Wish my PV was like that!

I'm afraid we are gonna have some outages today. Awful storms on the way. Blah.
Supposed to hit here, too. Gonna be a crap day at work. On a double, if nothing else the storm may get me out early. See you guys tonight.
