When that song hit we used to sing out slightly different lyrics when it played: walk with an (insert word here that sounds vaguely like Egyptian/ but not):lol:

Some of us was teenage boys once...

My weekend comes to a close, so thanks for putting up with me for yet another one.

I hope everyone's well, and I hope to return again next weekend (if y'all are crazy enough to answer the door).
 :toast:

I've got just one more quarter, and think I'll drop it in and call on Charlie for one of my old-time favorites for fun. Enjoy, stay well, and vape 'em if ya got 'em!!!

North of Detroit, way south of Heaven
I was one of the 350 people that went to the theater to see this movie, back whenever the flip it was.

"Oops!"

My friend and I were 14 when we rode our bikes out to the theatre to see this. A mother was in there with her boy. When the cabbie started to pork that girl he picked up, she grabbed her child and left. Lol
I own it on DVD and have the double vinyl soundtrack.

Oh all teenage boys have SOMEONE. For the husband, it was Madonna. I was like, "Well you must be tone deaf."
He was like, "Honey, my ears were not the body part I was paying attention to."
I was like, "Touche, my beloved."

To be fair, like, my teenage Idol Bono could NOT sing, even after singing lessons. Brian Eno just arranged things as if it were "the band's thing" that Bono liked to hit the sharp side of the note. Brian Eno was the best thing to ever happen to that band.

Also, since the FDA is in the mood for BANNING things, I say BAN AUTOTUNE except for in certain rap situations they invented it. But back when, it was nice to know if someone had genuine talent.

I would say I am fairly sure American Idol used REVERSE autotune to sink a lot of contestants they did not want to win. Although I'm sorry I never believed in the "verified" envelopes either.

Hadn't had a ride in a week, been windy, rainy, cold. Hit the trail today and rode 32 miles in cold windy air, first ride this season with a jacket on. Felt good rolling along seeing the sights, there was a point where the little blackbirds were swarming in huge clouds that made the sky look like pepper flakes everywhere.

For some reason that all put the Talking Head's "Psychokiller" song in my head it is SUCH an earworm. God. I mean I like the Talking Heads fine but OMG how that song ever became "a hit" IDK. No accounting for taste I guess. I mean "Party Shack" was a thing. Walk like an Egyptian was a thing!

I must fix this. Okay. IDK why this one was like at the forefront, but eh.

I have never heard this version, it's rather nice, actually especially the end....

Funnily enough this one of the few albums that I really like as far as Green Day.

That's better. One more for good luck:

I miss leather pants man. In general. I also miss wearing mine but I'm not sure you get to wear them if you are "nearly fifty" (thanks Mom). LOL sometimes I think my husband was thinking this as we were dating. LOL.

I was sorry to hear that Car's Ric Ocasek died recently in NYC. Apparently he was much liked in his neighborhood. It was touching that outside his place many folks placed little toy cars after they heard.

So, my son visited a week ago and brought his bike. He's been big on cycling for years. We went for a ride, and he's all suited up with stuff I can't even figure out, and I'm in shorts and a ratty sweat shirt and it's around 45° and windy. And he says 'you're wearing shorts out now?' and I says 'it's the only thing I got'. So he persuaded me to get these cycling tights. My goodness, what a difference it makes in temperature comfort and .... comfort. Do what you will with that. LOL.

My favorite cyclist of them All in Tucson (he was a regular) was this redheaded kind of "Let ALL your facial hair sprout" and like, he wore (the exact same) pair of jeans cut off kinda raggedly like, cutoff jeans shorts, and NO shirt and like he would have benefited from a shirt (bystanders felt) because he had that scraggly body hair that gets all you know how beads of sweat run down and it's bad? That. Also, he had the chronically bowed back of an avid biker who never stretched. He had what looked like a reasonably decent road bike as far as I could tell (it was old all the paint wore off) and he was like FOCUSED.

I could never figure him out. Really LOVED biking, but miserly? Sort of the Bear Grylls (I swear that can't be a real name and I hate that dood) of cycling as in "We can get by on JUST the minimum even if we have to let slugs bleed us then eat them, so they are full and we remain hydrated type deal?

I loved seeing him every time. Once I yelled, "Hey, Floyd Landis!" out of the window and I felt bad because would have been the sort of inside cycling joke you'd have to slowly get while NOT riding hard. He didn't look up. It coulda been Floyd. This guy probably couldn't hear through all his hair anyway.

Oooh.. Gunshot outside. Awesome. I believe I will stay indoors until morning.

Yeah the right biking gear is super helpful. Gel seats have always been a favorite of mine, any cyclists look goofy in the tights and cleats (especially walking on clip ins) but they do have their utility.

Maybe not for everyone.

Meds and Theraflu time!

I honestly don't know where to start with dedicated riding gear :( I'm a jeans and jacket kinda rider when it's cold...at least I got into the jerseys with back pockets for the warm season :)
