@Arnold Ziffle , I see your point. FM radio was in its heyday and airplay meant money and careers.
I made a USB with 1480ish "good" songs for the car. I am surprised at how many I included and the number of one-hit wonders, but, not only do they bring back memories, but by my way of thinking about music as an art, they ARE art in the
sense of meeting criteria.
It includes classical, soul, big band, country, R&B, Disco, and a good amount of progressive music. Just like the song that I just posted by Never the Bride, I heard it as song by Robert Plant, and the lyrics are very good, but Never the Bride used a piano and it, to me, is a much better quality song. I don't mind cover songs...if they are good/better than the original.
I just posted a block of Eagles songs, and I liked the roughness of the early days just as much as I like the "polished" versions. I posted those because the performances were not what was on the radio.
Music comes to different people in different ways, some not so much, others very much.
Music is a world so large that it can be a challenge, and a gift.
