Yo Provape peeps,

I am heading to the Dominican in 3 weeks and thought I would ask here if any of you have recently travelled to the DR with vape gear.

As it is illegal to bring vape gear in and out of the country, I would prefer not to have expensive mods confiscated. Not a problem for me as I have lots of $5-10 mechs and Frankensteined Subtank Minis I can bring vs. the good stuff, but my wife only uses Provaris and Kabukis (sometimes a nautilus 2).

I could care less about breaking such a stupid law as we really do NEED our Vapes and the penalty is ONLY confiscation, but I am hoping to hear some good luck stories from my ProVape brethren and maybe a couple of tips.

Thanks! I found the same and stories of a few instances of gear being confiscated.

I can't find Anything current.

Seems as though the best thing is to absolutely disassemble everything. Mix it in with camera stuff or whatever you can disguise it with. Definitely put the batteries in a case in your carry on.

Sheesh, it sounds like they are criminals in that airport! They confiscate whatever looks like something they want!

The only problem I've ever had traveling with vape gear was leaving the Dominican Republic.
Been there twice recently & once about 3 years ago every time same story.
Security confiscated everything that looked like it was worth something. They didn't seem to have much interest in ego/ce4 / cheap looking gear, they let about a dozen ego/ce4 type through before & after us, in plain view of everyone around. We also saw folks with old looking beat up newer / better gear that got passed on through.
Don't fall for the ' a representative of your hotel or resort can help get your stuff on the plane', You hand it over, go through security & never see your stuff or the 'representative' again.

I dropped my Radius in the toilet

Took the battery out, bottom plate off, P3 connection off and took the 2 little top screws out. Pulled the top plate up a little, just enough to let rice in
Put it in a zip lock bag of rice for a day,
and it's working fine!!!!

Took a while to get (shake) all the rice out

Oh wow.. you know a year or two ago we were all laughing how if they ever made vaping illegal that China would just start selling "flashlights" with 510 connections to get around that..

Hahaha.. I can't believe they actually did! I have that on my wait list - if they ever come back in stock I'm buying me some!

Apparently these have been tested, and work for getting through customs!

Ha! The red light one is on its way. Ordered last week for this very purpose.

I figured I would bring a couple of clone mechs for me and my mangled KBox and ONE Provari 2.5 with a flashlight top for my wife.

Also, I ALWAYS put my mods in my checked baggage and batteries in my carryon just before checking in. I have never had a problem and there is no way I am going thru security in DR or any other Caribbean country with expensive mods.

I'm sure I will be fine, but it sucks that I can't bring my Radius or our Classics/P3's.
