I had been checking obits at the end of last year, and have been checking his FB regularly. I hadn't searched obits this year but noticed his last post was at the end of December. I assumed someone would have posted something there, but I guess that was incorrect.
Thanks, Classy. It's the news we feared was coming (sigh).
He was a great guy and brought us some great memories. I, for one, would like to think that he & Gin are up there vaping Provaris, hunting squirrels, and finding better places to dive than any human could ever imagine.
Tip of my hat, Duane (and Derek too, of course), and thanks for what you brought here to us.
I reckon Duane wouldn't have wanted any fanfare, and I know he wouldn't want us sitting around here licking our wounds.
I'll turn this Provi Party back to music now, and will retire my Saturday for the night, but I will & must kick it back with the only thing that feels appropriate just for this moment. At the very least, he deserves a proper send-off.
Tomorrow, I'll be back to whatever "normal" is for me.

Sad news today. You kinda hoped Duane would give us that surprise drop-in again… that he really didn’t mean his time was short and it was all untrue even though we knew it was. Hard to let go I guess. My fondest memory of Duane was years ago when I got into a rare dust up with another member. He simply posted a picture of a train wreck. That ended the dust up immediatly. I couldn’t tell you why but for some reason it made sense at the time. I felt he was on my side but to just walk away. I did.
In his honor I will say I appreciate you all. Somehow I think Duane would think that was appropriate. RIP, Friend.
