My fondest memory of Duane was years ago when I got into a rare dust up with another member. He simply posted a picture of a train wreck.

I came really close to posting that train wreck pic as a tribute (he liked to use that one) but decided against it. I'M GLAD YOU MENTIONED IT!!! :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

Even though I knew it was coming, I am so sad today. I have been checking on here daily to see if D posted. I will forever remember his kindness and generosity. I am sure he wanted to take his big Vari collection with him.

I kind of regret not having a meet up with D. We live pretty close to one another. I’m a little north of Raleigh and he was a little south. He’d ride his bike up to the Falls of the Neuse. That’s 10 minutes from here. Would have been easy.

Two weeks ago, my best friend since 1975 moved down to Dobson (your general neck of the woods). He had lived in my town, 5-10 mins away at worst (depending on time & traffic).

We speak many times per week but in recent times, I've physically seen him MAYBE once per year (probably less).

Such is life in these states & time, Bronze. Yes, it would have been nice if you could have met up, but the speed of life today sometimes feel like that of light. For better and/or worse, I suppose.

Just had to chime in -- for Duane, our Enaud. I've many fond memories here at ECF and Duane was high on my list of one of the good guys, a helpful on line friend and more. May he be resting in peace.
