Sums my journey and plan for the future.

Are you talking about hummingbirds?
Oh yes! We had moved the first part of this year, at our last place I had spent eight years attracting them and planting things that attract them, I had two feeders there, and they were very busy. I really didn't know if I'd get any where we are now at, so when I spotted one early April, I got a feeder out there right away, and have been keeping it fresh since, lil buggers buzz my head when I am grilling outside, the feeder is just eight feet away on the other corner of the deck. Some times they buzz by my head when I am changing the feeder out for a fresh one

I have about a dozen or more on two feeders. Actually it is a bit too much. Can't walk on the deck without feeling swarmed. The season started out nice. A male and a couple females. It was orderly and calm. Then the word got out and it became a super highway. Need to scale back (say this every year).

LOL, our old deck was screened in, and the grill was under one of the feeders, they'd buzz me there too. Now our deck is much smaller, no screen and no roof, they don't mind me sitting out there watching them, only about eight feet away. They make me smile.

And the girls are as nasty as the boys too.

[QU OTE="Bronze, post: 19865549, member: 100639"]I wouldn't mind getting beat up by some of those roller derby girls. :D[/QUOTE]
I worked with one of them a few years back. She was my Admin.

Absolutely gorgeous and super quiet and nice girl in her 20's. A few of us went to one of her matches and she bashed the hell out of everyone in sight. Needless to say we were bringing HER coffee at work after that. :D

Mmmm hmmmm. I understand. ;)

Seriously love my little angel flight beings. We have a teensy yard that houses 3 to 4 feeders at all times, 365 days. I've seen in the neighborhood of a couple of dozen fighting over a feeder. Occasionally, I film them. Here, for whatever reason, they seem kwite unafraid of hu-mans.

I've seen videos of folks having them take nectar out their hands in little red saucers.
