A veritable plethora of help, to all of you, a simple thanks is not sufficient, so I'll say to you, I don't care what all the others say about you behind your backs, I think you're wonderful. :)

@GeekyGeezer I'm leaning heavily towards your analysis, It seems logical in all respects.

@DPLongo22 Thanks for the welcome. It is authentic, purchased direct from ProVape together with a GMZ P3. "Best self-description ever" - 72 years of rehearsing ad-libs went into that. :)

@jwbnyc How does one differentiate between the first and later generations? Nope (I can speak 'mercan), I don't use the 510 adapters on my Kabbukies (good plural?). The only 510 I use is my Prime on a little Wismec.

@stols001 Thanks

I think the later generations have more adjustable airflow, I think? They came with the 0.7 coil preinstalled and were designed for use with the mods they make now I THINK? They were just transitioning when I bought my first, titanium one, and the second is a 510 only and the airflow did seem more adjustable but not by very much. I don't believe there are large differences unless you are looking at threading, and some are compatible with more coils, but fundamentally they are pretty similar. I think. I just looked, and I think those were the main differences.

Screw a coil into the Kabuki, and gauge how much pressure it is putting on the ProVari pin.

The early ones really needed to be screwed down very tight.

If you screw the coil in just snug and it fires, it's a new one.

Only the really early Kabukis had to be treated this way.

Many people complained.

Zen~ made changes.

As a long-time lurker I feel as if I "know" many of you here, even so, I think I should introduce myself before I rant and then ask for advice on my problem.
I am an absolutely delightful elderly gentleman with immaculate taste and no funds. Occasionaly thrawn and even carnaptious, yet I am, by my own excellent judgement, quite charming. A smoker for 54 years till three years ago when I took up vaping as a way of staying off the "stinkies". It has worked.
Rant: It's all your fault! I came across the name Kabuki and Googled it, which brought me to ECF. After reading of this marvelous modern invention, and it's oftimes associated ProVari, I ended up with four of the former and three of the later. This would not have happened without the input of some of you. For this, I am grateful.
Problem: Whilst re-filling my GMZ Kabuki some time ago I found a small o-ring in the tank. It fits perfectly in the base and the coil screws in perfectly. I have used it so for some considerable time without problem, although the puzzle remains, why only in the GMZ tank?
Recently I have experienced juice (and not condensation) leaking through into the P3 connector on the mod. Removing the o-ring, it still leaks. Now here's the knub. Does anyone here know of this o-ring in some of the Kabuki tanks, yet not in others?
Thanking you in anticipation
Me.

welcome Deemac ... sorry, I know next to nothing about the Kabuki, however, there are diehard HoH Kabuki users on this thread.

you could also reach out to this guy ...

@Deemac, welcome aboard! Seems your question is pretty much answered, I'll ask you one. Have you changed what type of juice you are vaping recently? Different pg / VG ratio?

I agree that the extra o-ring was an errant stowaway. Could what you are seeing be just condensation accumulating, or are we talking major leakage?

OK, that was more than one question ;) :)

@stols001 None of my four came with a 0.7Ω coil.
@jwbnyc That sounds like a good test when the next coil changes come around. (see also my last comment).
@WillyZee I thought of that but since zen~ hasn't made an appearance on ECF for a long time, I assumed that he'd pulled the blankets over his head and didn't want to play anymore. :)
@Katdarling and thank you to tu too.
@ENAUD My juice PG/VG has since shortly after I started vaping rated at 50/50 or 40/60. The fluid has the same colour as the e-juice, in this case, Bowden's Mate, a dark brown.
@Anyonewhoisinterested To add confusion to the befuddlement, I put the interloper back in and screwed the coil in less tightly than before - The Devil made me do it - and I've had no leaks for about four hours now. At the next refill, it'll come out for good, I hope.

Zen left the forum some time before ProVape closed, he could not post here even if he wanted to, as his current status is unregistered supplier. He was posting in the ProVape Kabuki thread at the request of ProVape management, as a response to problems that I personally was having as an early adopter of the Kabubi. All HOH products have a lifetime warranty, and I'd bet buttons to dollars that if you contact them, they will be of assistance to you. I've got six or so authentic Kabuki tanks, and have never encountered a leak, and have never seen an o-ring like the one you describe.

The tank I was having problems with was sent in, and Mike re machined the threads where the coil screws into the base, after several discussions with him, he made that modification a permanent change to the depth of coil seating in the Kabuki. Good luck, we will be here waiting to try and help if we can...

If you call the number on the HoH site, Zen~ will be the most likely person to pick up the phone.

You'll probably be on the phone talking to him for about an Hour.

He won't let you go until he's figured out how to fix your problem, up to and including replacing it if that's what it takes.

Zen~ never forgets that people use these things to stay off the cigs.

He is on a mission. He takes it seriously.

If I came across as negative about Zen~ it was certainly not my intention, rather it was what the Duke of Edinburgh described many years ago as "dentopedology", the art of opening one's mouth and putting one's foot in it. Having read his posts on ECF and having viewed his discussion with the ubiquitous PBusardo, I have nothing but admiration for him. Were I to describe him, his traits would include "technical expertise coupled with curiousity" and "zealot", all wrapped up in a "favourite uncle" image.
@jwbnyc Calling a cell phone from Europe could end up being quite expensive, especially if it turns out to be for an hour. :)
@ENAUD Thanks for Mike's status info, I didn't know that.
I'm immensely grateful for the support I've received here, all that's left is "where the hair-oil did the interloper come from?".

<chuckles>
I have a darker theory of a possible source of this mysterious o-ring...perhaps one day Zen was fiddling about his shop, experimenting with various o-rings and widgets and whatnots. May could be an o-ring decided to jump ship from the bench and wound up entrapped in the curly hairs of his zen~'s beard...upon admiring a tray of finished tanks, the o-ring decided to leave the company of Mr. Zen~, and the rest is, as they say...history.
